Today is Romeo Beckham’s birthday, but don’t hold your breath waiting for older brother Brooklyn to share a loving tribute.
The siblings have been caught up in a family rift since Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were noticeably absent from dad Sir David’s 50th celebrations earlier this year.
Since then, there’s been undeniable distance between the budding chef and his famous parents, while Romeo, who’s turning 23, and Cruz, 20, have made digs against him on social media.
Whether it be seemingly blocking him and Nicola, 30, on Instagram, taking a swipe at Brooklyn’s varied career, or posting cryptic messages about ‘truth telling’, it’s clear their once-close relationship is now strained.
As such, Brooklyn, 26, has no desire to wish his younger bro a happy birthday.
A source shared with Metro on where they currently stand: ‘Brooklyn has been on the receiving end of public trolling from both of his brothers, and just a few months ago, they even blocked him and Nicola.
‘So, it’s unrealistic to expect him to extend an olive branch.’
Something tells us Romeo won’t feel he’s missing out, though, as the middle Beckham brother has been inundated with bday wishes from other loved ones, which he’s reposted on his Insta Story.
These included a sweet post from Sir David’s mother, Sandra, who wrote: ‘Happy birthday to my special grandson @romeobeckham so proud of you, love you lots xxx’.
Proud mum Victoria also posted a slew of baby snaps, writing that she ‘can’t believe’ he’s now 23.
‘We love you so much Romeo and hope all your dreams come true on your birthday’, penned the fashion designer.
Meanwhile, doting dad Sir David took to his feed with an adorable throwback photo, adding in the caption: ‘Happy 23rd Birthday to my little boy … you are kind , humble , polite , hard working and the most special person to everyone we love you so much x have the most special day HAPPY BIRTHDAY big boy @romeobeckham’.
Not one to miss out on the chance to embarrass his older brother, Cruz joined in by uploading a pic of Romeo as a kid using a Justin Bieber phone case, which seemed to be some foreshadowing given how the model now resembles JB with his buzz cut and tattoos, as fans have pointed out.
‘Love u man’, wrote Cruz.
Romeo’s birthday comes after Brooklyn made another sly dig at his family.
Living in the States now, he and Nicola recently renewed their wedding vows after three years of marriage, with her billionaire tycoon father, Nelson Peltz, serving as the officiator.
It was a much smaller affair than their 2022 nuptials, which took place at the Peltz family’s £92million oceanfront mansion in Florida in front of hundreds of high-profile guests.
But, second time around, Brooklyn and Nicola invited 200 guests, with the bride wearing a remodelled version of her mum’s own dress.
A couple who did not receive an invite, however, were Sir David and Victoria, who allegedly found out about the ceremony through reports online.
Then, in a fresh blow, Brooklyn made it known that he has no plans to return to England, at least not to see his mum and dad.
In a video filmed in London with renowned chef Michel Roux Jr., Brooklyn, who owns the hot sauce brand Cloud23, flexed his skills by making a gammon dish.
The former photographer, who has spent little time in the UK so far this year, then said the dish would be ‘the only thing’ he’d fly back for.
With the internet still heavily invested in the ongoing Beckham feud, it remains to be seen whether Victoria’s previous ‘desperate’ hopes for a reconciliation will come to fruition.
But for now, sides look like they’ve been chosen.
