Cameron Boyce’s mum reacts to Adam Sandler’s tribute to her late son in Happy Gilmore 2 – Bundlezy

Cameron Boyce’s mum reacts to Adam Sandler’s tribute to her late son in Happy Gilmore 2

Happy Gilmore 2 was packed with celebrity cameos, but amidst Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny’s surprise pop-ups, Adam Sandler’s tribute to Cameron Boyce is all anyone is talking about.

Cameron tragically passed away in 2019, aged just 20, after suffering an epileptic seizure in his sleep.

The long-awaited sequel saw a brief moment where Cameron could be seen on a TV screen during a broadcast of the Disney Channel show Jessie. He played the character of Luke Ross from 2011 to 2015 alongside Debby Ryan, Peyton List, Skai Jackson, and Karan Brar.

It was a touching tribute from Adam Sandler, who worked with Cameron on both the Grown Ups films, and Cameron’s mum, Libby Boyce, thanked the actor on Instagram.

“Thank you [Adam Sandler] for honouring Cam’s legacy in Happy Gilmore 2,” she wrote alongside a golf emoji, an angel wing emoji and a purple heart emoji.

Just a few days earlier, Libby had also shared an article about the Happy Gilmore 2 scene and how Cameron Boyce and Adam had shared a close bond.

“Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death. Cameron was supposed to be in Hubie Halloween and they were strategising,” she said.

“They had a bond I think related to being authentic, funny, and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cam’s memory alive which warms our heart.”

People are ‘sobbing’ over Cameron Boyce’s Happy Gilmore 2 cameo

Adam Sandler has always spoken highly of Cameron Boyce, and after his sudden death, he issued a devastating statement on Instagram.

“Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world,” he wrote at the time.

“Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.”

Their close bond was one reason people were “sobbing” and “bawling” over Cameron’s Happy Gilmore 2 cameo on Twitter.

“Sandler never forgets his people. This was touching,” one person wrote.

“I noticed the TV when watching and didn’t recognise him at first, but then I remembered who it was, really sad,” another said.

Someone else added: “WAITTTT I DIDN’T NOTICE THIS I’M CRYING.”
