KANASÍN.- With the aim of preserving traditions and customs on these dates, the Kanasin Town Hall invites the general public to participate in the program “Path of the Souls”.
The event will consist of a series of activities within the framework of the ‘Day of the Dead‘ and which includes artistic, gastronomic (with the display of altars) and cultural events, such as the ‘Paseo de las Animas’.
Edwin Bojorquez Ramirezmayor of Kanasín, highlighted the importance of continuing to preserve and respect traditions in the municipality.
This through the teaching of the current generations our roots and origins, “in addition to the extensive cultural wealth that we have not only in Kanasín but throughout Yucatan”.
Camino de las Ánimas in Kanasín: dates and complete program
Activities begin this coming Monday October 27 with the tour and lighting of the decoration of the Main Park starting at 7 p.m.
Subsequently, the folkloric ballet ‘Ecos del Mayab’ and at 8:30 p.m. the lighting of the mural will take place in the General Cemetery.
It should be noted that the mural, based on the cemetery fence, will offer colorful and beautiful images alluding to the Day of the Dead.
The mural is the result of the competition Pixan Graff with the theme of Hanal Pixán, specifically with the theme of food for souls.
Activities will continue on mars 28 in the main square with the staging ‘The Spell of the Mucbipollo’ presented by Thigh and its regional theater company starting at 7:30 p.m.
For him Wednesday 29 will take place on ‘Paseo de las Animas‘ which will leave at 7:00 p.m. ‘Los Jaraneros’ Monument with completion in the Bajos del Municipal Palace with a dairy at 9 p.m.
He Thursday 30 the main square will be dressed up with the ‘Candy and costume night‘at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation of the show’Circus of Torments‘ at 7:00 p.m. and the character show at 8:30 p.m.
The activities will conclude on Friday the 31st in the main square with a altar demonstration with the participation of students from various schools in the municipality.
The students will offer the public a symbolic visual experience that reflects respect for the memory of those who have gone before us on the journey of no return.
