The crash of a heavy vehicle led this Thursday afternoon (30) to the closure of traffic on the A5, in the direction of Cascais – Lisbon, near Alcabideche, with traffic in the opposite direction being restricted, a Civil Protection source told Lusa.
According to a source from the Lisbon Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, the alert was given at around 3:30 pm, for a heavy vehicle that was in the middle of the road.
According to the same source, the incident caused one injury, who at 4:00 pm was being treated at the scene of the accident.
At the site, at kilometer 21.8 of the highway, there are 20 operatives, supported by eight vehicles, with firefighters from the Estoril, Parede and Alcabideche corporations, as well as members of the GNR and Brisa.
In the direction of Lisbon – Cascais, traffic is on the side of the roadstill according to the same source.
According to a note from Brisa, the concessionaire for the motorway that connects Lisbon to Cascais, the alternative for those traveling is to exit the A5 onto the A16 [Circular Exterior da Área Metropolitana de Lisboa, que liga Cascais com Belas].
