Apple is offering MORE money for your old iPhones – but there’s only days left to claim up to £660 before prices fall

APPLE has raised its in-house trade-in values for dozens of iPhone models – meaning customers can get more money for their old gadgets.

But iPhone owners only have a few more days to make use of the offer before Apple drops its trade-in prices again.

So if you’ve got some old handsets wasting away in a drawer somewhere at home, now is the time to trade them in.

The offer spans 27 iPhone models – from the iPhone 8 right up to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

iPhone 15 Pro Max devices will now get you a staggering £660 when traded in, while the regular iPhone 15 can get you as much as £410.

Even older devices like the iPhone 13 can earn you up to £270 in store credit – helping you shave a significant amount off your next Apple purchase.

The iPhone 8 will only earn £50 in store credit, though, as it heads onto Apple’s dreaded vintage list

The tech giant has upped trade-in prices in several countries as well as the UK, including the US, Canada, Japan, France, Germany, Australia, Italy, Spain and China.

However, the deal is only available until June 18, MacRumors reported.

After this date, prices will sink back to their usual levels.

While third-party trade-in services generally offer higher trade-in values, store credit can be helpful to die-hard Apple customers.

The service is available both in store and online.

The new prices will be valid until June 18 and range from £10 to £30 increases.

Alternatively, if your device is no longer available for credit, then you can hand it over to Apple for recycling.

Your device might not be available for credit if it is too old and has been added to Apple’s doomed ‘obsolete’ list.

“Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than seven years ago,” the company writes on its website.

“Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, and service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.”

It means it can’t be repaired, as Apple no longer has the parts.

Apple also doesn’t accept iPhones with a broken screen or other significant damage.

In both cases, Apple will only recycle the device for you.

iPhone tricks to try today

Here are some of the best...

  • Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the space bar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, letting you move around words and sentences more easily
  • Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapped squares in the bottom right-hand corner, and press close all tabs
  • Delete lots of photos quickly – Hold down on a photo and then drag your finger diagonally in Photos to select lots of images at once, then hit delete
  • Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of your Home screen, then tap in the bar and type a currency (like €200) and it will automatically covert to your local currency
  • Check if you’re due a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health, and check out the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally a battery is considered worn when you’re down to 80% capacity. If you’re below, you can buy a battery swap from Apple
  • Move apps around faster – Hold an app until it starts wiggling, then (while still holding) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around easier

Skins star unrecognisable as he reunites with cast 15 years after hit show

THIS actor burst onto the scene in the late noughties as a fresh-faced teen with a mop of curly hair in E4’s Skins.

Fast-forward 15 years since the show ended, and this star, now 33, looks unrecognisable as he reunited with his former co-stars – but can you guess who it is?

Did you guess it was Ollie Barbieri who played JJ Jones in Skins[/caption]

The actor in question is Ollie Barbieri who shot to fame in Skins, playing JJ Jones.

The star was in the hit E4 show from series 3 to 4 which aired from 2009 until the following year.

Skins followed the highs and lows of teens in college trying to navigate their way through life.

It became a huge fan favourite and had seven successful series with some very iconic characters.

On the show, Ollie’s character JJ was known for being the more wholesome of the group, and was considered quite “geeky”.

But as the series progressed, he became more socially confident.

SKINS REUNION

Actor Ollie recently reemerged into the spotlight when he met up with several of his former Skins co-stars.

He was photographed celebrating twins’ Kathryn and Megan Prescott’s birthday, who played Katie and Emily, along with Kaya Scodelario, who was known for her role of Effy.

Fans went wild when they saw the picture, with one saying: “Love this Skins reunion, is that JJ on the left?”

Another said: “So great to see you are all still friends!”

CAST BACKLASH

Meanwhile, Ollie’s Skins co-star Kaya previously hit out at Skins for a “lack of safeguarding” behind-the-scenes for its teenage cast.

The actress was just 15-years-old when she landed the part of Effy, who was the sister of Nicholas Hoult‘s Tony.

But speaking about her time on Skins to Nick Grimshaw on the Dish podcast, she said: “Back then there wasn’t the same amount of safeguarding with young actors.”

Recalling how radio presenter Nick once interviewed her as a teen, she added: “He interviewed me when I was about 15, I was underage at a festival, and I was really drunk.

Ollie starred in third and fourth series’ of Skins[/caption]

“There wasn’t anyone checking in if we were OK… Nick is to me such a memory of my early career – he was like a safe place, kind and gentle.”

Kaya continued: “I vet everyone first [when I go onto a new set].

“I just make sure they’re not an a***hole. I have a genuine no a***hole policy and I will not give my time to people that think they can behave like that any more.

“I’ve met so many incredible actors and directors that don’t behave like that, that are kind, good people and also produce good work, so there’s no excuse for it.

“There used to be, when I started out, it was like, ‘Oh, it’s, you know, it’s Jack the Lad behaviour’ or ‘it’s because he’s intense’, and no.

“Be a nice person, be respectful, be kind, because I’m too long in the tooth, I can’t be a****. I don’t want to be around bad energy.

“And I’m too aggressive, I’ll kick off, which is not good. It’s not good. It’s very nineties to be an arsehole.”

Skins was created by father and son duo Jamie Brittain and Bryan Elsley, and ran from 2007 to 2013.

The 1% Club knocks out a whopping 16 celebs with easy anagram question – could you work out the answer?

CELEBS were left red-faced on The 1% Club after a simple anagram question wiped out a staggering 16 players.

Lee Mack hosted a Soccer Aid special of the ITV game show testing 100 celebrities and athletes on their logic and common sense.

Quiz: Which is an anagram of Lionel Messi? A) Lone Missile; B) Lion in Slime; C) No Smiles Lee.

The star-studded lineup including Jill Scott, Iain Stirling, Paddy McGuinness, Tommy Fury, Tony Bellew, Chris Hughes and many more.

They hoped to reach the end and win up to £100,000 prize money for the UNICEF charity.

However, the 70% question saw an incredible 16 people eliminated in one fatal swoop.

Presenter Lee asked: Which of these is an anagram of LIONEL MESSI?

The players were then shown three possible answers: A) LONE MISSILE, B) LION IN SLIME and C) NO SMILES LEE.

Once the time limit was up, Lee revealed 16 people had answered incorrectly and were therefore out.

The right answer turned out to be A) LONE MISSILE.

Lee was devastated to learn his Soccer Aid pal Emmet J Scanlan and one of his footballing heroes Stuart Pearce were knocked out by the brain buster.

By the 1% question there were just two contenders remaining.

These were former footballer Clarke Carlisle – who played for QPRWatford and Leeds – and comedian and ex-Soccer AM host, Lloyd Griffith.

Having reached the final question, Clarke and Lloyd had already won £10,000 for Unicef – and as the footballer also still had his pass intact another £1,000 was added to the guaranteed amount.

Unlike the regular show, the £11,000 was not in jeopardy and was guaranteed whatever happened.

But now it was their chance to secure the HUGE jackpot for the Soccer Aid charity.

Lee asked the pair: “In the opening verse to the original version of Three Lions, what TWO words feature exactly three times in the lyrics?”

The 1% Club's Most Difficult Questions

The 1% Club sees 100 contestants try and make it to the 1% question and be in with a chance to win a share of the jackpot. Here are just some of the show's most difficult teasers.

  • Players had to compare and contrast three images of butterflies then explain which of the butterflies were exactly the same on both sides. Find the image and answer here.
  • Players were shown groups of six symbols then asked which were in the same order whether you read them from left to right or right to left. Find the image and answer here.
  • Players were asked how many different combinations were there of displaying four digits on one hand. Find the answer here.
  • Peter had recently found his old diary that he’d written in secret code but he couldn’t remember how to decipher what he wrote. Players were asked to crack the code and find out what the bold word was. WH89 I GR1W UP I WA92 21 B8 A 5L1RI72. Find the image and answer here.
  • A 1% question was based on a grid of numbers going in ascending order from 1 to 49.  Starting on 25, the middle square, SEEN took you to square 27. From there, NEW took you to 20. From there, which square would SEWN take you to? Find the image and the answer here.

The lyrics were shown on screen as a reference as they tried to figure out the answer in 30 seconds.

Here’s what they were show:

Everyone seems to know the score, they’ve seen it all before
They just know, they’re so sure
That England’s gonna throw it away, gonna blow it away
But I know they can play, ’cause I remember

So did you spot the repetitive words in just 30 seconds?

When it came time to answer, Lloyd, 41, admitted he’d misread the question.

Meanwhile, Clarke, 45, offered up “it” and “know” as his answer to the puzzle.

It was soon revealed that Clarke was correct – and had bagged a whopping £100,000 for Unicef.

Fans took to X and sang the star’s praises, with one penning: “Clarke Carlisle you Brainiac!! Well done!”

Another shared: “Absolutely delighted for Clarke! Always had a brilliant brain – but came close to losing him!”

A third added: “Clarke Carlisle is a genius!!”

When is the Trooping the Colour ceremony?

The parade will kick off on Saturday June 14, 2025, almost five months before King Charles’ actual birthday.

Charles was born on November 14, though the reigning British monarch has two birthdays.

The sovereign’s birthday, which is celebrated through the Trooping the Colour, usually falls in the summer months.

Fans can watch the parade when it begins at 10.30am at the Horse Guard Parade, in central London.

The Coldstream Guards will be on display for the world to see, dressed in full military regalia, alongside a huge number of supporting staff.

Over 1,400 officers and soldiers, 400 musicians, 200 horses and 10 bands will take part in the event.

Only working Royals will be at the event, with a horse-riding trio composed of Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince William following the King and Queen – who will ride in a carriage.

How can you watch Trooping the Colour 2025?

Fans can either stream the event or attend live, though Central London is expected to be extremely busy.

BBC One will be airing the event live from 10.30am with Claire Balding introducing the live coverage.

The Beeb will be airing a compilation of the best moments from the day, which will be available to watch on iPlayer from 7pm.

Trooping the Colour dates back to the 17th Century, when it was first held by King Charles II.

The ceremony takes its name from each regiment showing off their battle colours, which made them easier to identify when at war.
