MORRISONS has the lowest price for a big Toblerone bar just in time for Father’s Day.

The major supermarket has slashed the price of the 360g block of chocolate in multiple flavours by 50 percent.

The £3 price tag for the tasty Swiss bar is available to those with a Morrisons’ member card.

This price is cheaper than the next lowest of £4.75 which is available at Tesco for Clubcard holders only.

Otherwise the 40 gram bar of Milk Chocolate Toblerone and other flavours is currently listed for £6 at Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado.

The price drop comes days after Morrisons restocked the gigantic Toblerone bar which weighs 4.5kg and is more than 12 times bigger.

The limited-edition bar is in stores now and will be until Sunday June 15, 2025 making it the perfect present for Father’s day. 

While the bar weighs in at a hefty weight, so does the price, with the bar on offer at £60 for customers with a More Card. 

However, those without a More Card will have to pay the full price of £80. 

The chocolate bar is only available in store at Morrisons but is also currently sold on Amazon for £69.99. 

Along with the Toblerone deals, savvy shoppers noted how Morrisons is also offering a great price of Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

The major supermarket slashed the price of the beloved chocolate favourite and shoppers can choose from two different flavours.

Morrisons is selling the 90g ball in both the original and mint flavours for £1.50, for those with a member’s card.

The full price of the tasty treat is usually £2 and the reduced price is also cheaper than what Sainsbury’s and Tesco sell it for, which is £1.95 at both supermarkets.

Even with a Tesco Clubcard, Terry’s Chocolate Orange 90g costs £1.75, making the Morrisons offer cheaper.

The experts at Gardener’s World named the best plant for the job, and detailed how to grow and prune it.

They recommended adding trumpet vines, officially known as Campsis, to your walls and fences.

The deciduous woody climbers feature red, orange, or yellow tubular flowers that bloom from late summer through to autumn.

Give these plants a large space to grow, ideally on a south-facing wall or a pergola in direct sunlight.

They will quickly cover a framework, but experts advise annual pruning to control growth.

Trumpet vines are known to cause skin irritation, so always wear gloves when handling.

Plant these vines against a large wall or fence, or you can train them up a trellis or pergola,

They can also be grown in large pots placed in a warm sheltered spot against a wall or fence.

While they are frost hardy, they thrive in warmer conditions, with full sunlight helping to ripen the new wood.

This improves hardiness and promotes prolific flowering, with the plants often growing to 12 metres with wall support.

They are ideal for adding privacy to your space and can spread for up to four metrese in width.

But be warned, trumpet vines can be invasive so be sure to grow them in containers to help restrict their spread.

TikTok garden pro Michael (@themediterraneangardener) also recommended the climbing plant for quick coverage of walls and fences.

He described the flower as “fast-growing”, explaining “it will quickly cover a wall or a fence”.

Trumpet vines are best planted in spring or early autumn and need to be watered thoroughly.

For the best results, mix organic matter such as garden compost into the planting area.

Dig a hole at least twice as wide as the pot and around the same depth.

This should be placed approximately 45 centimetres from the base of the wall or fence.

Loosen the soil at the edges of the hole and remove the plant from its pot, teasing out the roots.

Place the vines in the hole levelling the top of the rootball with the soil.

Then refill the hole and gently firm the soil around the plant, removing any air pockets.

As well as watering the plant, you should mulch with compost or chipped bark.

You can also tie the shoots into supports to start training the vine.

A DESPERATE search has been launched for a missing schoolgirl who vanished in a park.

Ada Edwards was last seen in the St John’s Park area of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, at around 4.30pm on June 11.

The 12-year-old is described as white and around 4ft 11in tall with shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Kent Police said the missing girl, from Edenbridge, is thought to have been wearing a t-shirt and camouflage jogging bottoms.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are concerned for Ada’s welfare and anyone who has seen her should call 999 quoting 11-1147.”

THE sale of discount chain Poundland is reportedly set to be confirmed in a matter of hours.

The deal will put thousands of high street jobs at risk with the parent firm planning a major restructure, according to Sky News.

Pepco Group has owned the 818-strong retail chain since 2016.

It is understood that a number of investment firms and private equity groups are among those to have tabled proposals to buy the business since it was put on the market earlier this year.

Laura Ashley owner Gordon Brothers is reportedly among the favourites to strike a deal.

The Telegraph previously reported that up to 200 Poundland stores could face closure as part of a rescue sale.

Pepco said it is looking to offload the brand amid a wider shift away from food and drinks with a deal expected before the end of its financial year in September.

It came as the group reported weak Poundland sales over the past half-year cutting the brand’s trading guidance for the year as a result.

Stephan Borchert, chief executive of Pepco, said: “At Poundland, trading remains challenging, which is reflected in a profit outturn below expectations for H1 and a weaker outlook for the full year.

“Barry Williams, who was reappointed as Poundland managing director in March 2025, and his team are actively driving a recovery plan to help turn around the business by refocusing on its traditional core strengths.”

Poundland revenues dropped by 6.5 per cent to €985million (£830million) for the six months to March compared with a year earlier.

The brand suffered “challenges across all categories” and had 18 net store closures over the period.

Poundland is now due to deliver earnings of between €0 and €20million (£16.9million) compared with previous guidance of €50million and €70million.

The wider Poland-based Pepco Group saw total revenues grow by 4.3 per cent to €3.34billion (£2.82billion) for the half-year.

However, like-for-like sales were marginally lower as growth in its Pepco brand was offset by the struggling Poundland operation.

PUTIN’s battlefield casualties have soared past the bloody one million milestone after 40 months of a war he expected to win within days.

Ukraine’s fierce resistance has ensured Russia has paid a mighty toll for every inch of land it has taken, and its advances remain painfully slow.

The staggering milestone includes troops who have been killed or wounded so severely they cannot fight on.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, one million Russian military troops have been killed since February 24, 2022, with 628,000 of those deaths occurring in the last six months.

Burning through a million troops has won Putin just 20 per cent of Ukraine’s total territory – mainly in southern and eastern areas – which is a humiliating conversion rate.

Despite the devastating losses which have already ripped a scar in Russian society, experts fear that Putin is likely unaffected by the numbers, because mass sacrifice is ingrained in his battle plan.

Dr Stephen Hall, politics lecturer at the University of Bath, said that as far as the warmongering dictator is concerned, things are heading in the right direction, so he will keep on condemning young Russians to their deaths.

He told The Sun: “Putin believes he’s winning the war. The Russian army is moving forward like it or not.

“He believes that he can outlast the West, that the West is weak.”

Russia’s strategy, Dr Hall said, has been one of “meat assault”.

This relies on the logic that if you flood the front line with overwhelming numbers, “eventually some will get through”.

Dr Hall said Putin has learned this strategy from his ruthless Soviet predecessors in World War Two.

Their idea was “ten men to every rifle”, which meant: “You pick up the rifle of a fall soldier. You keep going, you get shot. You’re next. Your buddy picks up your rifle.

“The Soviet army would eventually push through. So that remains the case in Russia.”

And that approach suits Putin just fine, because he “doesn’t care about his men”, Dr Hall said.

He said the Russian people “know how to suffer”, which allows the regime to continue with its meat-grinder tactics.

The Kremlin also meets less resistance from the Russian people than a million losses should merit, because it simply lies to them, Dr Hall said.

He said: “They’re simply not going to be told, especially in the poorer areas where Russia is recruiting – like Buryatia and Bashkortostan and elsewhere.”

Dr Hall also explained why he has little faith in the peace negotiations bringing an end to the war any time soon.

Even if Ukraine makes land concessions, Putin won’t feel his goals are fulfilled.

Dr Hall said: “Putin has been very clear. They’re not fighting Ukraine. Ukraine is the battleground. They’re fighting the West.”

“Ukraine has been forced to fight a war with two hands tied behind its back — a war that NATO would never fight.”

Dr Hall said Putin’s hope is that “Ukraine will have to just accept whatever negotiations Russia is going to give […] because the West is going to tide over this war, and the Russian military is going to keep on going forward.”

Even with the death toll climbing higher by the day — over 1,140 Russian soldiers killed or wounded just yesterday, according to Ukraine’s military — Putin appears to be doubling down.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said Russia’s total personnel losses since the invasion began now stand at approximately 1,000,340.

The tally includes not just dead soldiers but those so grievously wounded they can’t return to the battlefield.

The bloody milestone comes as Putin calls for a major upgrade to Russia’s ground forces, Ukrainian outlet Pravda reportas.

The Kremlin tyrant declared them the “dominant force” in modern warfare and demanding faster development of “advanced weapons systems” with “the highest tactical and technical specifications.”

In a meeting on the state armaments programme, Putin also directed resources toward strengthening Russia’s navy, further signalling his long-term military ambitions.

British volunteer fighter Macer Gifford, who previously fought alongside Ukrainian units, said the million mark is a tragic reminder of just how far off course Russia has veered under Putin.

“It’s another grim milestone in a war that’s dragged on for too long,” he said.

“It’s also a reminder that Vladimir Putin is a tragedy for Russia, as well as Ukraine. A million casualties is a horrifying figure to comprehend.

“There are millions of Russians who have now lost a loved one in Ukraine.

“Millions more have to deal with the physical and emotional injuries of the wounded.

He added: “Putin once compared himself to Peter the Great, but his legacy is now much closer to Stalin.

“The two men share many of the same delusions and a profound disregard for human life.

“Stalin once said, ‘A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.’ Since Putin has made no effort to end this war, it’s clear he feels the same way.”
