Trump says he ‘wasn’t happy’ with Elon Musk & reveals moment X boss turned on him…but leaves the door open to reconcile

DONALD Trump has said he is “disappointed” with Elon Musk following their public row last week – but has left the door open to making amends with the billionaire.

The president made the remarks to Miranda Devine on the debut episode of the New York Post’s Pod Force One podcast.

Trump weighs in on whether he might reconcile with Musk[/caption]

While he made it clear he wasn’t happy with the spat, Trump left the door open to a reconciliation – although said he doesn’t see it as a priority.

“Look, I have no hard feelings,” Trump told the podcast.

“I was really surprised that that happened. He went after a bill that’s phenomenal.

“He just — I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually.”

Musk and Trump’s online row ignited last week, with the pair exchanging barbs over social media channels.

The Tesla and SpaceX boss blasted Trump’s flagship spending bill, which he believes with further balloon the US national debt.

Musk also shared posts on X suggesting Trump was named in the “Epstein files” and calling for the president to be impeached.

He has since expressed regret over “some” of the comments he made during the row.

Trump hit back at Musk on Truth Social, suggesting the billionaire is a “big-time drug addict”.

“I was disappointed in him, but, you know, it is what it is”, Trump told the podcast.

“That happens. Things like that happen. I don’t blame him for anything. I was a little disappointed.”

Just days before their falling out, Trump had held a send-off for Musk in the Oval Office as the billionaire bowed out of his government role.

When asked by Devine whether Trump could get back on warmer terms with Musk, the president didn’t rule out a reconciliation.

He said: “I guess I could, but we have to straighten out the country.

“And my sole function now is getting this country back to a level higher than it’s ever been. And I think we can do that.”

Trump added that “Elon agrees” with the merchandised catchphrase “Trump was right about everything”.

It marks a change of tone from Trump just days after he said Musk had “lost his mind.”

Devine asked him: “You said he had problems. What kind of problems? I mean, is it the drugs?”

“I don’t know what his problem is, really. I don’t know,” Trump replied.

“I haven’t thought too much about him in the last little while, but the bill is so good.”

Musk had been one of Trump’s most ardent supporters during last year’s presidential election.

But he hasn’t shied away from criticising some of the administration’s policies, such as around tariffs.

While Musk has backed down from some of his most strident comments about Trump last week, it remains unclear if the pair will fully reconcile.

Trump had warned there would be “serious consequences” if Musk financially backed his political opponents.

Emma mattress FAQs

Are Emma mattresses any good?

For us at Sun Shopping, the answer to this question is a resounding yes.

Whether you opt for the economical Emma Original or the more luxurious Emma Premium mattress, we think you’re getting value for money and giving yourself the best chance of a good night’s sleep.

It is important to do your research to figure out exactly what specifications you need from a mattress.

In the Emma premium mattress review, our tester noted that “Having a high-quality mattress has truly levelled up my sleep game”.

This will help you buy one that’s right for your requirements and needs, and will hopefully ensure longevity and overall satisfaction.

Which Emma mattress is best?

The Emma NextGen Premium Mattress is a great all-rounder.

It has a combination of memory foam, springs and cooling technology, so it ticks the boxes for anyone wanting the most bang for their buck.

That’s not to say we don’t love the Emma Original Mattress, though, and the single version is ideal for children — check out our Emma Kids’ Single Mattress review to find out more.

Make sure you add the discount code THESUN for an extra 5% off any Emma item.

Are Emma mattresses any good for side sleepers?

Emma doesn’t exclusively reference mattress technology specifically for side sleepers, however, the NextGen Cooling mattress does offer full body pressure relief and support.

The mattress has seven different pocket spring zones, which provide specific support to different areas of the body.

This particular Emma mattress has received plenty of positive reviews online.

Fans have shared their thoughts on the quality of the design and improved sleep, with one reviewer stating it has created an “optimum balance between support and comfort”.

Our own tester, “who sleeps chaotically on all sides,” also gave the mattress top marks in our best cooling mattress roundup.

What is the life expectancy of an Emma mattress?

Emma offers shoppers a 10-year guarantee on all its mattresses, a policy that starts as soon as you receive your mattress.

If you encounter any problems with your mattress, Emma’s customer service will assist you in resolving the issue, including swapping out your faulty mattress for a new one.

A mattress is certainly an investment piece, so Emma customers can also make the most of the brand’s 200-day sleep trial.

It means you get enough time to really road-test your mattress in real life and decide if it works for you.

What is the firmness of an Emma mattress?

Emma’s mattresses are rated using a scale to explain how firm their mattresses are.

The firmness of Emma’s mattresses is the product of premium extra-tall springs aiding support and correct spinal alignment.

A majority of Emma mattresses are scored with a medium-firm rating, and customer reviews suggest that the Simba Hybrid is firmer than Emma mattresses.

However, it is important to do your own research to find a mattress that best suits you.

If you do purchase an Emma mattress, you can trial it for up to 200 days to make sure it is right for you.

What are the disadvantages of the Emma mattress?

While Emma consistently ranks among the UK’s top mattress brands, there are some potential downsides worth considering before you commit.

First, several customers report that Emma mattresses tend to sleep warmer than advertised.

Despite the cooling technology, hot sleepers may find the heat retention problematic, particularly with the all-foam models.

The price point sits firmly in the premium category. Even with impressive discounts, you’re still looking at a significant investment compared to budget alternatives, though the quality generally justifies this.

Some users note a longer-than-average break-in period, with firmness levels feeling excessive during the first few weeks before the materials properly adjust to your body.

Girl, 3, killed on cam in ‘human sacrifice by her mum’ as she was ‘dressed in white & spoke in ritual to expel spirits’

THE MOTHER of a three-year-old girl has been on suspicion of killing her child in a shocking “ritual murder”.

The girl’s horrifying death in Ukraine has been met with appalled reactions from residents.

Graphic designer and artist Yuliia Doloshytska, 32, had picked up her child from nursery ahead of the tragic incident.

The girl Alyna Petryv was made to wear “a white dress, a wreath, [and] forced to read various words from rituals….to drive out evil spirits,” according to reports.

Her mother is alleged to have filmed this “sacrifice”, according to neighbours in Kalush in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Residents reportedly heard screams during the night and called the police.

Officers managed to get access to the property in the morning, where they found the girl had been “drowned in the bath”.

The child had also been “stabbed” according to some accounts.

The cops had got the key from the landlord instead of breaking down the door, reports say.

The mother was present at the scene when the police arrived, according to officers.

“She did not provide any explanation,” said a police statement.

“In the course of the initial check, law enforcement officers recovered elaborate evidence that indicates the 32-year-old woman’s involvement in premeditated murder.”

The mother is a divorcee who had lived in the Czech Republic with the child for part of the war.

She is reported to have returned to Ukraine just six weeks ago.

The woman was not registered with psychiatric doctors, according to the police.

“She lived alone in a rented apartment with the child,” the statement adds.

A murder investigation has now been opened by cops.

The woman, who has been detained, was informed she is suspected of killing Alyna.

The child’s Ukrainian father reportedly still lives in the Czech Republic.

Her church funeral was attended by shocked neighbours and family members.

Local publication Kalush Informator reported: “People shaken by this tragedy, brought children’s toys in addition to wreaths and flowers.”

One eulogy said: “What a beautiful girl, what a HORROR! How is this possible?”

Dana White’s mammoth Jon Jones offer ‘leaked’ as insider claims Aspinall U-turn will cost icon ‘biggest UFC cheque ever’

An image collage containing 2 images, Image 1 shows Jon Jones and another man at a UFC press conference, Image 2 shows Tom Aspinall of England preparing for a UFC heavyweight championship fight

AN INSIDER has claimed to have revealed the UFC’s whopping offer to Jon Jones for a fight with Tom Aspinall.

MMA‘s top promotion have been working on a mammoth melee between the pair since last November but have yet to finalise it.

Former title challenger Chael Sonnen has claimed ex-rival Jones is leaving the ‘biggest cheque’ in UFC history on the table[/caption]

That’s despite White and Co. meeting Jones’ demands to be paid “F**K YOU MONEY” for the historic heavyweight title unficiation fight.

Long-time UFC commentator Joe Rogan sensationally claimed Jones demanded £22million ($30m) to unify the belts, although that claim was quickly shot down by White.

And three-time UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen has now claimed the former pound-for-pound king will take home a guaranteed purse of £8.9m ($12m) if he shares the octagon with Aspinall.

He said in a video on his YouTube channel: “I don’t believe Jon Jones has turned down this fight.

“Whatever that number was, and I believe to be $12 million, in case you’re interested. Got my own sources.

“The UFC said, ‘Okay’. Jon’s cheque at the end of the night will be the biggest cheque he’s ever got.

“It will be the biggest cheque anyone has ever got from the UFC.

“It will beat out [Brock] Lesnar, it will beat out Georges [St-Pierre].

“Ronda Rousey’s weren’t as big as they embellished, it will crush hers.”

Jones, 37, has left MMA fans on tenterhooks over the last few weeks by flirting with the prospect of retirement, which would see him walk away from the biggest purse of his career.

And according to White, Jones’ umming and ahhing over retirement has come after he “AGREED” to take on Brit bruiser Aspinall.

He said in the UFC 316 post-fight press conference: “Jon Jones agreed to do the fight.

Jon Jones was offered the deal and accepted the deal. Jon agreed to fight Tom, yes.

“You guys have heard me for the last however long, ‘I guarantee this fight is going to happen. This fight’s going to happen.’

“You guys told me the crazy s**t that’s going on Instagram, and all these other places.

“But yes, I’ve been saying Jon is going to fight Tom.”

“It will be the biggest cheque anyone has ever got from the UFC.”

Chael Sonnen on Jon Jones' purse to fight Tom Aspinall

White’s once unwavering confidence in booking the fight, which SunSport understands was being targeted for UFC 322 in November, is starting to fade.

He admitted: “Listen, you can’t make people fight, if Jon doesn’t want to fight, you can’t make him fight.

“We can try to make him fight, we can throw things at him that inspire him to want to fight.

“But we’ll figure it out.”

Former long-reigning light-heavyweight king Jones hasn’t fought since his Madison Square Garden mauling of Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last November.

Wigan warrior Aspinall, meanwhile, has been on the sidelines since his 60-second demolition job of Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 last July.

My dad was a jockey with over 1000 winners and my grandad played in EFL – I’m making my own way in golf at US Open

TYLER WEAVER will complete a remarkable family hat-trick when he tees off in the US Open.

The English amateur golfer is the son of former flat jockey Jason Weaver, who rode more than 1,000 winners before carving out a new career as a popular TV commentator.

And grandad Eric was a professional footballer with Swindon Town, so sporting genes definitely run deep in the Weaver family.

Weaver Junior – who was runner-up in the English Amateur championship and is now studying at Florida State University – booked his place via a play-off at a qualifier in Atlanta.

Major winners Zach Johnson, Jason Dufner and K.J.Choi were among the players who failed to advance.

Fortunately for Jason, the US Open falls neatly between the Derby and the Royal Ascot.

So Weaver, 20, will have both his parents cheering him on, with older brother Max – another elite amateur golfer – caddying for him.

He warmed up for his debut on the sport‘s biggest stage by playing a practice round with five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, who also studied at Florida State.

Weaver commented: “Just getting through qualifying was up there as one of my biggest achievements, because I’ve always dreamed of playing in a major championship.

“It all feels exciting and a bit surreal. But now that I’m here I want to go out and compete and do as good as I can.”

BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UK

Dad Jason says he will be more nervous than he was before a big race, but is confident Tyler will do himself justice.

He said: “I am super proud because I know the hard work Tyler has  put in to get to this stage. It is a great achievement.

“It will be even more special with his older brother Max caddying.

And with the US Open falling between two of the biggest dates in the racing calendar, Tyler has timed his qualification to perfection as far as I am concerned.”
