Mum urges other parents to race and nab ‘longest wearing’ Adidas school shoes as they’re slashed from £28 to just £16
A MUM has urged other parents to race to Amazon to nab the “longest wearing” school shoes ever for just £16.
Alice explained that her son is no stranger to wearing out a pair of black shoes at school.

So when she saw all the positive reviews for the adidas Tensaur trainers, she decided to give them a try.
And she was more than a little chuffed when they lasted her boy longer than any other pair he’d tried.
Now the adidas shoes have been reduced on Amazon, Alice took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to encourage other parents to nab some too.
Sharing a screenshot of the shoes on the site, she wrote alongside it: “Currently £16!
“These have been the longest wearing school shoes my son has had!”
The original price of the shoes is £28, so the discount isn’t one to be sniffed at.
And other mums took to the comments section to share their own positive reviews of the shoes too.
“My son had these – first year this year and lasted so well,” one wrote.
“We’ve had these every year and love them,” another said.
“These are the ones the boys have and they last ages,” a third wrote, tagging a friend.
“I have to agree!” someone else added.
“My son was going through shoes every term. Got these and they lasted over a school year just brought them again in the next size up!
“He also loves them. Even wears them day to day as so comfortable, he says.”
“My son has these every year! That’s a bargain. Might buy next size up,” another commented.
“I literally love these shoes – they’re the only ones that have lasted for my son at school,” someone else agreed.
“Love these shoes,” another said.
EXTRA HELP WITH SCHOOL UNIFORM COSTS
IF you can't get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you.
In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing.
Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores.
Some charities offer help to families in need too.
But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant.
Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you.
Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch.
If you don’t know where your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch is, you can find out by visiting www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/nearby/.
If you’re not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund.
“My son has had the same pair since September – definitely a record in our house!”
While others admitted they’d already bought the shoes – at a much higher price.
“I’ve just paid £23 for these,” one sighed.
“Man just bought these at full price last week,” another added.
And some people said there are other shoes that they prefer for their kids.
“Nothing beats Geox shoes for school,” one wrote.
“Reinforced toes!!! My son can ruin school shoes in a week easily.
“Scuffs his feet & wears holes in the feet very quickly.”
Chelsea axe popular star, 25, from Club World Cup squad as fans say ‘we deserve to fail on all fronts’
CHELSEA have left out goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from their Club World Cup squad – causing fans to fume.
The Blues kick off their campaign in the expanded 32-team tournament on Monday against LA FC.

And players had to be registered yesterday evening – causing clubs to scramble in time to sign new stars in time.
Chelsea – who failed in bids for Mike Maignan and Jamie Gittens – left Petrovic out along with Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix and Axel Disasi.
The 25-year-old stopper was signed from MLS outfit New England Revolution II in 2023 and spent last season on loan with sister side Strasbourg.

But Chelsea now start the season with Robert Sanchez Filip Jorgensen and highly-rated 19-year-old Mike Penders.
It leaves Petrovic’s future in doubt – despite a good season on loan in France – with Monaco among those interested in signing him.
One fan said: “This club is a sh** show. Bunch of f***ing stupid clowns running us.
“If we sell Petrovic and keep Sanchez as no1 then we deserve to fail on all fronts.”
Another fumed: “We deserve failure.”

Chelsea have always maintained they are happy with Sanchez and Jorgensen – despite both making errors in games last season.
But with AC Milan’s Maignan available at a cut-price due to his contract expiring next summer, the West Londoners launched a move to sign him.
Chelsea’s latest proposal was for a fee of around £12m after Maignan made his desire to move to Stamford Bridge clear, telling Milan he will not renew his deal.
Chelsea opened talks after being alerted to the Frenchman’s desire to leave, but refused to budge on their valuation.
And Milan held out for close to £20m – meaning if a deal is to be struck it must come when the window re-opens on Monday.

Maya Jama’s boyfriend Ruben Dias flies out to Love Island to take her on romantic date
MAYA Jama’s boyfriend Rúben Dias has jetted out to Love Island’s Mallorca base for a romantic date night.
The ITV2 host, 30, and Manchester City ace Rúben, 27, have been dating since the end of last year.

She met the defender in September at the MTV Europe Music Awards, two months after announcing her split from rapper Stormzy.
The couple’s relationship is going from strength to strength and now he has headed to the holiday resort for a swanky dinner.
Maya captured herself travelling in a car before she danced around to a tune on the radio in the passenger seat.
She looked glam for her night out, styling her raven locks into waves and opting for fresh make up, with statement earrings to accessorise.
In the swanky restaurant, she captured a server chopping up steak tartre and wrote in her caption: “Only just got into this raw s***.
“Still bugs me out.”
Another slide then saw her about to tuck into a more well-done steak, served up with tomatoes and chips.
Their happy night came after the first beauty booted out from the 2025 ITV2 matchmaking series came to light, in what was a busy night for Maya.
The Love Island anchor and Ruben were spotted for the first time together in public on New Year’s Eve, when they shared another romantic dinner.
A source at the time said: “Maya and Ruben swapped details at the EMAs and have chatted since, but things went up a gear in early December.
“When Ruben got injured and had to miss the congested new year fixtures, he jumped at the chance to see in 2025 with Maya in Spain.
ROMEO RUBEN
Ruben is no stranger to romantic displays.
In April, Maya returned home to a bouquet of roses following a recent holiday.
Maya added no caption to the image slide, simply holding the red blooms up to the camera.
Maya Jama and Stormzy's relationship timeline

2016 – Stormzy and Maya Jama first got together when she was 20 and the couple quickly won over the hearts of the public.
2018 – The couple moved in together in southwest London with the dog they shared, Enzo.
2019 – They announced their split after a four year romance.
2021 – Maya meets and gets engaged to basketball player Ben Simmons.
July, 2022 – Maya calls off her engagement.
November, 2022 – Maya and Stormzy kissed at the MTV VMAs in Dusseldorf, Germany.
May, 2023 – The Sun revealed how Maya had been visiting Stormzy at his London home.
August, 2023 – Maya and Stormzy confirmed their relationship was back on when they were spotted strolling hand-in-hand on holiday.
December, 2023 – Maya goes Instagram official again with her man.
July, 2024 – Maya and Stormzy announce their split
And it’s not the first time she’s been treated to an impressive floral selection as back in January, the former Radio 1 DJ showcased another selection of roses with fans claiming “they’re from Ruben.”
NEXT STEPS
The Sun was recently first to report how the loved-up pair were getting serious, and had taken their relationship to the next level.
A source said: “Maya and Rúben are getting more serious and she has met his mum Bernadette.
“She is very happy and in a great place in her personal life and her career.
“It’s shaping up to be a very exciting year for Maya.”
She also shared her first picture with her footballer man as they enjoyed a pre Love Island break in Italy.
Earlier in the week, Maya uploaded a short clip and wrote: “perv cam,” as Ruben could be seen rubbing sun tan lotion on his body while in swimming shorts.
Recently, it was also revealed Maya has started taking Portuguese lessons.
Speaking about her take on relationships previously, Maya said: “I’m such a lover but I am a big leaver as well.
“I know what makes me happy and I know what I like — and this is no disrespect to anyone I’ve been in a relationship with, but if it’s not that then I will leave it.
“I only want you if you are going to add to that or make it better, otherwise I am not really on it.”

‘Look at me, you PIG’ – Tennis star snaps racquet and yells at rival in frosty handshake after losing Wimbledon warm-up
FABIO FOGNINI blasted Corentin Moutet after their fiery meeting in Stuttgart yesterday.
The veteran Italian, 38, was handed a wildcard for the ATP 250 event in Germany.

In round one he faced tricky Frenchman Moutet, renowned for his quirky antics on court.
Fognini, who has not won a tour level match this year, was driven to distraction during the contest, at one point, snapping his racquet over his knee and tossing it away.
Moutet, 26, went on to win the encounter 6-4 6-7 6-3, booking a round two berth against top seed Alexander Zverev.
After Fognini sliced a backhand wide, Moutet fist pumped and pointed to his head in celebration.
As the pair shook hands at the net, Fognini held on for a little longer than is customary.
After Moutet gave him a brief glance, the former world No9 continued to glare in his direction.
The fiery star then said in French “Regarde-moi, petit cochon!” – meaning “Look at me, you little pig!”
Moutet ignored the barb, instead walking back onto court to soak up the applause of the crowd.

Earlier this year, Moutet was involved in a furious exchange with Alexander Bublik at the Phoenix Challenger.
The pair had to be separated by chair umpire Marta Mrozinska at the end of the tense match.
As Bublik was led away, the Kazakh yelled: “You want to meet outside? Let’s go! You want to fight?!
“The French kid is speaking and he doesn’t want to fight. Let’s go. We meet in ten minutes outside.”
Fognini, meanwhile, has previously clashed with Andy Murray.
There was no love lost between the duo, with Fognini sometimes proving to be a tricky opponent for the legendary Scot.
Murray infamously told the flamboyant Italian to “shut up” during a heated Shanghai encounter in 2019.
Fognini confirmed in Rome last month that this will be his final year on tour.
Asked for his highlights at his home tournament, the world No117 said: “One is for sure the victory in the night against Andy Murray when he was No. 1 in the world.
“This one is in the special place, especially here in Rome, for sure. I’d say it’s top three in my career.
“I live for [those] moments. My character is like that. I play with passion, and sometimes too much.
“But I think when I was playing my best tennis here, I think the crowd was really happy to see me beating Andy. I beat Gael (Monfils), I beat (Joe-Wilfried) Tsonga, I beat a lot of good players.”

I have a ‘council house conservatory’ that is basically a pop up bubble tent – I got it for £90 and it makes me so happy
A WOMAN has shared how she bought herself a “council house conservatory” in the form of a bubble tent that cost her £90.
Annie shared how she used the extra space to house a TV and sofa and decorated it to look cosy with fairy lights.

On her @fannyannieofficial page, she showed inside the tent and said: “Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it brought me a bubble tent which makes me really happy.
“My pop up council house conservatory.”
She picked up the Vevor tent from eBay for the bargain price, and set about making it look like a pretty lounge.
She even added fake wisteria to make it look attractive.
Considering the average price for a standard conservatory is between £15,000 and £20,000, many people felt like she had the bargain of the century.
Annie added: “Mine is held down well, I would encourage anyone to buy one.
“I’m hoping it’s secure enough to last winter.”
Many people were quick to comment, with one adding: “This under the rain must be bliss.”
Another wrote: “I love what you’ve done inside it giving me loads of ideas for when ours comes.”
Annie gave some more information to people impressed with the idea.
She shared: “I did look on eBay. I think that the tent is actually sold out at the minute, so well done, guys.
“You cleared all the stock.”
She added that she uses an extension lead to power the the TV in the tent, and said that she finds it “very warm” when she is sitting inside.
Annie continued: “Yes, it’s very warm when the doors are closed.
“Even tastes like a greenhouse in here.”

She explained that she opens both the doors for ventilation on hot days, but “fortunately lives near the coast.”
Annie added: “It stays warm on cold days, and absolutely piping on hot days.”
One person replied: “Amazing could live in that.”
