STING and Shaggy have one of the most unlikely friendships.
But Mr Boombastic has revealed one of the reasons they struck up a close bond is thanks to booze.
Shaggy, who will support Pitbull at London’s O2 Arena on June 9 and 10, told Bizarre’s Jack: “We have a lot in common.
“We are both Libras and both like the same gin – we love Monkey 47. What are the odds?
“We just connect over stupid s**t.”
Shaggy added: “We love taking long walks together.
“He’s super competitive.
“Even if we are on a regular walk, Sting always has to go faster.
“He’ll start walk-running.
“He is a brother I never knew I needed.”
On what makes it so fun collaborating, he said: “On one song we ended up laughing more than working, and I think we both decided we never wanted to stop laughing.

It makes Dejon the second Islander this series to have been quizzed by cops, after The Sun yesterday revealed Kyle Ashman was held over a machete attack.
Both were released with no further action.
ITV was aware of the incident with Dejon when he secured his place on the dating show, a spokesman confirmed.
He spoke to cops alongside Kettering FC footballer Harlain Mbayo, who was ordered to carry out a community resolution, which can involve an apology or compensation.
The dispute was sparked over payment for food and an Uber taxi ride.
Personal trainer Dejon last night told The Sun: “I was never arrested.
“I voluntarily spoke to the police to clarify the truth about what happened in this incident, with no further action taken.
“To stress, my intentions here were entirely honourable and it is very upsetting to read claims that suggest otherwise.”
The Met Police said: “On March 16 at 04:05hrs officers responded to a report of a robbery in which a phone was taken.
“An investigation was launched and two men voluntarily took part in interviews. The victim’s phone was recovered and has been returned.
“No further action was taken against the 26-year-old man.”
ITV added: “We speak to our Islanders in advance of the show in addition to rigorous background screening, including DBS checks.”

But if you’re unsure where to turn, we’d recommend leaning into the warm weather with something fresh and citrusy.
We’ve recently become big fans of Granado, Brazil’s oldest perfumier. There’s something distinguished about its history, tradition and branding, not to mention its beautiful scents.
The brand’s newest fragrance, Citrus Brasilis, is perfect for warmer, longer days. It’s full of fresh lemon on first spray, before settling into a slightly minty, floral scent. It’s like the first sip of a limoncello spritz (but, er, manly).
Plus, it comes in a beautiful yellow gift box, making it perfect for Father’s Day.
If you’re looking for something slightly cheaper, try the Limão and Neroli scent, which retails at just £60 for a huge 100ml bottle.
It’s perhaps not as citrus-heavy as the Citrus Brasilis, leaning more towards the soapy, floral scent of neroli.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a nicer scent for the price.
Linen Blend Shirt Jacket, £39.90 from Uniqlo
Dad dressing is at its very worst in summer. Garish floral shirts, odd headwear, deeply unfashionable sunglasses; it’s a minefield for all middle-aged men.
Give him a helping hand with this understated overshirt from Uniqlo.
It comes with a 50s-style Cuban collar, which adds a touch of class without being off-puttingly “fashion-y”, and the mixture of linen and cotton means that it’s cool and breathable without the constant creasing you get from pure linen.
It also comes in five versatile colours, and is reasonably priced at under £40.
One note though: Uniqlo does tend to run large, so consider sizing down, especially if he’s between sizes.
Gym + Coffee
If you have an active dad who lives in workout gear, we’d point you towards Gym + Coffee.
The brand creates workout and leisure gear that is designed to be worn in and out of the gym: it’s breathable, stretchy and form-fitting enough to see you through your workout, but flattering and stylish enough to see you through brunch or a pint after.
And at £30 for a tee and £60 for a quarter zip, while it’s perhaps not cheap, it’s not horribly expensive.
We tried the brand’s Essential 6″ Shorts, Coffee Tee and Relentless 1/4 Zip, and we were blown away by the brand’s attention to detail.

That doesn’t automatically make it worth buying, but we can attest that the Father’s Day selection is very lovely indeed.
It includes four tasty products: Salted Caramel Truffles, Salted Caramel Biscuits, Honeycomb Milk Chocolate and Maldon Sea Salt Dark Chocolate.
Just be sure your dad likes salt before you buy it — if he does, don’t expect any of the products to stick around for too long (the biscuits didn’t even make it 24 hours, in our case).
All of the products are beautifully presented — the truffles and biscuits are in lovely cylindrical boxes, and the two bars of chocolate are in vibrant coloured cardboard.
They’re all presented in a nice box, too, which can be reused when the chocolate is nothing but a distant memory.

Labelled as a brookie (a brownie and a cookie all in one), these Cake or Death brownies are sure to go down a treat with any nut-loving, cake-loving dad.

We’re in prime “picky bits in the garden” season, and we can’t think of many better things to do than sit in the sun, drink a very cold glass of white wine, and make our way through this selection of tapas from Boxtapas.
Priced at £55, it’s an authentic selection of some of the most premium cans and jars Spain has to offer, including trendy tinned fish, artisinal patés and snacks including almonds, olives and breadsticks.
We loved that several of the choices could be eaten either by themselves or used as ingredients to make meals more premium.
The tinned mackerel and roasted peppers, for example, could be eaten simply with some posh bread, bruschetta style, or combined with some olive oil to make a delicious, quick, savoury pasta.

Chefs will occasionally try and convince you that “one knife is all you need”, and technically, it might be true — but we like having choice.
This five-knife block from ProCook is fairly priced at £119.20 (down from £149), and includes every knife the average home cook will ever need: a six-inch chef’s knife for most tasks, a five-inch utility and 3.5-inch paring knife for fiddlier tasks, a 10-inch carving knife and a 10-inch bread knife.
We’ve been using the set for half a year and have been really impressed with how long the knives have stayed sharp, as well as their comfy, contoured (and stylish) handles.
The knives also come encased in a sleek, smoky glass block, which allows you to see which knife you’re picking up (something we hate about wooden knife blocks).
Horl 3 Cruise, £99 from Horl
Nothing positively impacts the satisfaction (and, oddly, safety) of cooking like having a sharp knife.
It makes chopping easier, more precise and faster — and you’ll find that your eyes sting a lot less slicing onions, too.
We’ve tried a few knife sharpeners, and none we’ve tried walk the line between effectiveness and ease like the Horl 3 Cruise.
It works super simply; you magnetically attach your knife to one of the two sharpening angles (15° creates a particularly sharp edge, 20° creates a more robust one), then run the diamond disc along the cutting edges of the blade.
You then follow it up with the stainless steel disc to ensure a smooth knife edge.
The whole process takes just a few minutes, and takes no time at all to get the hang of.

In cooking terms, there’s nothing like the disappointment of biting into a piece of meat you’ve spent hours slaving over, only to be left gasping for water because you’ve overcooked it into a dry, unappealing mess.
It doesn’t help that the cooking instructions on supermarket meat are often wildly off, erring far more on the side of safety than flavour.
The device that has made the biggest difference to the standard of our cooking is the Meater.
We haven’t cooked a piece of dry meat since we bought it, and it turned Christmas Day cooking into a piece of cake — even in an unfamiliar kitchen.
It’s a Bluetooth meat thermometer that connects to an app on your phone and has settings for almost every cut of meat you can think of.
Once you’ve chosen how well you want your meat cooked and it’s had a few minutes to adjust to the temperature of your oven or BBQ, it will give you a fairly accurate estimate of how long your cook has left, enabling you to ensure every element of your meal is ready at the same time.
We tested out the £329 Meater Pro XL, but unless he’s going to be cooking several cuts of meat at the same time, we’d stick to the much cheaper single-probe Meater Plus (£99) or dual-probe Pro Duo (£189).

Treat Factory Sausage Roll Maker, £20 from Menkind
This sausage roll maker is undeniably a bit of a novelty, but that doesn’t mean your dad won’t get some use out of it.
It’s super easy to use; simply put in a layer of pre-made pastry, pop in your sausage meat, cover it with another layer of pastry, close the lid, wait a few minutes and voila; delicious home-made sausage rolls.
The non-stick coating also means it’s super easy to clean up once you’ve finished cooking, and at 12cm x 26cm x 21.5cm, it’ll easy fit into a cupboard when you’re not using it.
It only costs £20, and it can make four sausage rolls at once; compared to the cost of going to Greggs, it’ll pay itself off in no time.
The Classics Perfected Bundle, £29 from Gymkhana Fine Foods
Gymkhana in Mayfair is one of just a handful of Indian restaurants in the world to have two Michelin stars.
As you can imagine, that means it’s more expensive than your local curry house, but you can bring a taste of the restaurant into your own home thanks to Gymkhana Fine Foods.
The brand sells ready-made curry sauces, chutneys and marinades that can be delivered straight to your door, and a four-jar bundle costs less than a single curry at the real restaurant.
Safe to say, it knocks the socks off any supermarket jarred curry.

Billed as “the most powerful chessboard ever invented”, we think this would be great for a recently-retired dad, but it’s also a handy present for anyone wanting to get into the often daunting game of chess.

For a busy dad, is there a more valuable gift than a good night’s sleep?

IT’S the controversial Channel 4 show that invited 12 people to pop their cherries on telly.
And now I can reveal that Virgin Island is ready for its second coming.
The broadcaster has begun casting for a new flock of innocents who want the help of show sexperts Danielle Harel and Celeste Hirschman.
Virgin Island followed the journey of a dozen young people as they learnt the art of intimacy on a Croatian beach.
Working with the therapists and a team of “surrogate partners” and “sexological bodyworkers” the aim was to help them overcome their fears and insecurities when it comes to intimacy and sex.
But the showraised eyebrows, with controversial scenes including one where Danielle snogged one of the participants, delivery driver Zac.
It proved to be a big hit with viewers, though, and became Channel 4’s most streamed new format since 2023 — especially with that important 16-34 age group.
For that younger age group, it was the biggest launch for six years since Michael Jackson factual piece, Leaving Neverland.
A source said: “Virgin Island had a big buzz about it as something which really pushed the boundaries.
“In a market filled with somewhat predictable dating shows, it broke the mould and still had that Channel 4 experimental heart to it. So everyone was thrilled when the ratings seemed to back the broadcaster’s punt.
“It felt like a no-brainer to consider a second series.”
The more important news, though, is the programme managed to fulfil its central aim and helped a few of the not-so-dirty dozen to shed their V plates.

Let’s hope their success inspires another brave lot to come forward for round two.
