Mexico City, October 30 (However).- The Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada Molinareported this Thursday on the safe relocation of 80 girls and adolescents that were found in the two headquarters of the center of social assistance private “House of Mercedes”after detecting irregularities and a case of alleged sexual assault.
“Whoever dares to touch a girl in this city will be punished with the full weight of the Law, even more so when it comes to minors who do not have their family and that further forces us all to act immediately in this situation,” he said at a press conference.
The capital’s president specified that the intervention was the result of daily surveillance carried out by the Ministry of Welfare and Social Equality and the National System for the Comprehensive Development of Families (DIF), which detected a series of irregularities and possible criminal acts. “After the complaint was filed with the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, immediate action was taken,” he said.
“The City Government reiterates this commitment to support, to do everything necessary to care for children, especially when it comes to children who are in a situation where they are not with their family,” he said. “The most important thing here is that we cannot allow abuse of this type to occur anywhere, much less in a space that is there to protect girls,” she said.

He noted that the 80 girls and adolescents were relocated to a safe space under the responsibility of the DIF, where they receive comprehensive care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and confirmed that “the most important thing was to protect the minors, they are safe, they are in a place cared for, cared for.”
The head of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJ-CdMx), Bertha Alcalde, reported that an arrest warrant was served against Aquiles “N” for the probable crime of aggravated rape. “The alleged aggressor, as reported by the Prosecutor, is already detained in police custody and will be prosecuted and tried, he will have to respond to justice and we will guarantee that there is no impunity,” commented Clara Brugada.

For his part, Mayor Luján explained that the investigation began in March 2025 when a 17-year-old teenager under shelter was irregularly transferred to the home of the director’s mother, where she was forced to do domestic work and was sexually assaulted by Aquiles “N” after giving her a substance. The agency reported that the victim was threatened not to report, so she wrote a letter to the DIF, the body that filed the complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office.
The Prosecutor mentioned the ongoing investigation into the transfer of minors to carry out domestic activities, detailing the protection measures granted by the Control Judge at the request of the DIF, such as the prohibition of approach, delivery of documents, police custody and the protected transfer of minors to shelters.
For her part, the Secretary of Welfare and Social Inclusion, Araceli Damián González, reported that on October 29, 2025, a judicial resolution was fulfilled to take urgent protection measures, requested by the DIF, in favor of girls and adolescents from the two headquarters of the Casa de las Mercedes.
Finally, he explained that, by judicial resolution, 80 girls and adolescents were rescued and safeguarded: 47 at the Schulz headquarters and 33 at the Berriozábal headquarters and the minors were immediately transferred to a space run by the DIF where they are cared for 24 hours a day by a multidisciplinary team with psychologists, doctors, and lawyers, ensuring their comprehensive care.
