The official trailer for The Celebrity Traitors has landed—and it’s all very dramatic.

Launching on October 8, a star-studded edition of Claudia Winkleman’s twisty BBC game show will welcome some of the biggest names in British entertainment, all competing to win £100,000 for charity.

But if the regular Traitors is anything to go by, success will not come easily, as our celeb contestants must backstab and deceive their opponents if they want to survive banishment and murder.

It remains to be seen who will be given the responsibility (some might say burden) of being a Traitor. Still, following the trailer drop, viewers reckon they’ve already figured out one identity.

This evening, fans were treated to a deeper look into the series before its premiere, as comedian Alan Carr, acting legend Sir Stephen Fry, Olympian Tom Daley, and singer Paloma Faith excitedly entered the Scottish Highlands castle.

Also among those taking part are Welsh singer Charlotte Church, talk show host Jonathan Ross, broadcaster Clare Balding, and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway, whose smiles quickly faded as the tension set in and the game began.

However, one player expressing another kind of emotion in the trailer was comedian Joe Wilkinson, who fans reckon was given the magic Claudia touch and recruited as a Traitor.

One scene saw him in conversation with YouTuber Niko Omilana, who put a hand on Joe’s shoulder and said: ‘Me? Faithful.’

Sitting beside him with his legs crossed, looking down to avoid making eye contact, a somewhat nervous Joe, 50, replied: ‘Me too.’

It didn’t take long for the internet to pick up on his timid demeanour, suspecting him of having something to hide.

Commenting on the Instagram post of the trailer, @joebelham wrote: ‘Joe Wilkinson is definitely a traitor isn’t he’.

‘Please say Joe Wilkinson is a traitor 😂’, added @hc__101.

Another brief clip showed the moment the blindfolds came off at the first roundtable after the Traitors were chosen, which Joe did rather casually and with a slight smirk on his face.

Other than Joe, though, some reckon pop star Paloma, 44, could be one to keep an eye on.

During a breakfast scene, the Only Love Can Hurt Like This hitmaker’s jaw widened after she received some unexpected news, with twists far from uncommon in Traitors Land.

‘Paloma’s gasp… I already feel like she’s a traitor’, wrote @meganfryerxxx on X.

While we’ve still got a couple more weeks to wait until we can confirm who the Traitors actually are, there’s no denying the nation is hyped, with plenty declaring that they ‘can’t wait’ to watch the ‘best lineup’ in action.

Echoing the thoughts of everyone, @mmsuk said: ‘can’t wait to accuse everyone from my sofa’.

‘Will HAVE to watch this!! Brilliant celebrity line up!!!’, added @quineyc.

Completing this series’ cast we have comedians Lucy Beaumont and Nick Mohammed, historian David Olusoga, Scottish actor Mark Bonnar, and rugby ace Joe Marler.

EastEnders star Tameka Empson, actress Ruth Codd, singer Cat Burns, and The Thursday Murder Club star Celia Imrie will join them.
