The CFE reported total income of 524 billion pesos, which represents an annual growth of 4.2 percent since it was established as a state public company.
Mexico City, October 28 (However).- The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) reported earnings of 56 thousand 416 million pesos (mdp) in the third quarter of 2025, which contrasts with the loss of 10 mil 964 mdp of the same period of 2024, according to its financial report sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV).
In a statement issued yesterday, the State company reported that in the third quarter of 2025 it obtained total revenues of 524 billion pesos, which represents an annual growth of 4.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
“Income from energy sales represented 74.3 percent of the total, with an annual increase of 1.4 percent. The domestic and commercial sectors stand out with increases of 6.9 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively, as a result of a solid user base and greater demand for electrical energy in Mexico,” the state public company reported in a statement.
At the same time, it reported that income from the sale of fuel to third parties and from energy transportation increased by 58.4 percent compared to the previous year.

The CFE detailed that the rise in international prices “used for billing the supply of natural gas, mainly to the combined cycle plants of private companies, as well as for the transportation of electrical energy through transmission and distribution lines”, led to this increase in their finances.
In turn, it reported that operating costs and expenses totaled 422,287 million pesos, which represents an increase of 11 percent explained by the “increase in fuel prices; particularly natural gas, whose average price rose 49.7 percent in the last year,” the agency noted.
With respect to EBITDA, a financial indicator that shows a company’s profits before deducting interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, the company reported that “it stood at 171,803 million pesos, with a margin of 32.8 percent over total revenues, which is consistent with the benchmark of other electric companies similar to the CFE internationally, and in turn reflects the cash flow generation capacity that the company has to face its financial obligations”.

CFE reported that the net profit at the end of this quarter was 125,107 million pesos, the highest figure reported since 2018. “This was due to the 9.3 percent appreciation of the exchange rate compared to December 2024, which allowed the comprehensive financing result to register a favorable balance of 30,230 million pesos,” it stressed in the statement.
In summary, the increases reported by the Federal Electricity Commission reflect an important monetary recovery of the company, after the net loss of six thousand 092 million pesos mp that was recorded during the first quarter of 2025.
“One year into the current administration, the CFE’s results as of the third quarter of 2025 show its operational and financial solidity after having been established as a State Public Company. In this way, the CFE reaffirms its commitment to the economic and social development of Mexico, promoting energy justice under the principles of efficiency, quality, reliability, safety and sustainability,” said the State Public Company.
