During the usual morning conference of the President Claudia SheinbaumCalleja Alor highlighted that, despite the failure in two phases of a medium voltage line that temporarily affected 668 users, Veracruz managed to restore its service to 100%, and work is being done in the other locations to achieve similar results.
“The work to restore the electricity supply, at midnight yesterday, was 98.7% complete. In 24 hours we managed to restore 8,198 users,” said Calleja.
“The failure has already been addressed and the teams remain in the field to resolve any specific details,” he stated.
In Hidalgo, the progress is 96%, with 2,467 users still pending reconnection, while in Puebla the restoration reaches 99%, with 381 users still without service due to blocked roads or difficult access for heavy machinery.
Calleja Alor explained that, since the beginning of the emergency on October 9, the CFE has worked continuously and in coordination with the Secretary of National Defense (Defense) to restore service in communities affected by flooding rivers.
In towns such as Tihuatlán, El Higo and Pánuco, Veracruz668 users remain without power due to new effects caused by the overflowing of rivers, although crews are already on site. In the case of Huehuetla, Hidalgo, The brigades continue to enter with the support of residents who collaborate in the transfer of poles, cables and materials, because some roads remain impassable.
To maintain continuity of supply in the most remote communities, the state company installed 105 temporary emergency plants, of which 20 were transported by air with Defense support and 85 by land. These plants remain operating with CFE personnel and sufficient fuel to handle any eventuality.
