Channing Tatum’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Excitement Fueled More Hype Than Any Teaser Could

While the cast list for the highly anticipated 2026 film Avengers: Doomsday features no shortage of top-tier talent, it’s not surprising that the names (who we know so far) set to be in the film are often asked about it during various interviews. This stood true for Channing Tatum, who’s expected to reprise his role as Gambit, a superhero he made a cameo as in Deadpool & Wolverine.

However, when the topic of Marvel’s next Avengers movie came up during an interview with Variety, Tatum even admitted he could find “a word big enough” to describe Avengers: Doomsday. So if the lengthy delay has left your excitement on the back burner, Tatum did a pretty nice job of refueling all the hype with just a few sentences.

The 45-year-old actor is just one of roughly 30 names already released by Marvel who’ll be in Avengers: Doomsday. They’ve also admitted the initial cast list release didn’t include every name in the movie, so that anticipation has lingered for months.

Tatum’s excitement about the movie quickly became apparent when he discussed it, and the comments turned more than a few heads in the process.

“When I say a huge movie, it’s like an understatement,” Tatum said of Avengers: Doomsday. “I don’t have a word big enough. I’m not good enough with words to explain how big this movie is going to be. It’s going to blow people’s minds.”

While plenty of actors in the film have done their fair share of hyping up the movie, which is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2026, Tatum’s comments were probably as good as any teaser Marvel could release.

Channing Tatum Addresses Ryan Reynolds’ Comments on ‘Deadpool’

The spiraling rumors around whether Ryan Reynolds’ popular character Deadpool will join Avengers: Doomsday have been a hot-button topic. After teasing the possibility with an Instagram post featuring an Avengers logo that was spray-painted over, Reynolds recently addressed the rumors.

When speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds claimed that he hasn’t even “stepped foot” on the Avengers: Doomsday set.

Obviously, that could mean a lot of things, including that he’s simply just not filming yet, or he could actually not be in the movie at all. It’s anyone’s guess at this point, and Tatum’s comments to Variety didn’t provide much clarity, either.

“He’s doing fine, I think he’s busy enough,” Tatum joked. “He’s got like 15,000 jobs. The guy wakes up at like 3:30 to handle his jobs that are in Europe; he’s got enough on his plate.”

Fans will have to wait and see how things transpire with Deadpool and whether he ultimately makes his way to the Avengers: Doomsday set sooner or later.
