Charlie Sheen has made quite a comeback in 2025. Days before turning 60, the Two and a Half Men alum released a memoir and a documentary, and now, he’s considering a return to acting.
“It would be really exciting for people to talk about my work again,” Sheen said during an appearance on the “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” podcast, which was released on Wednesday, October 29. “And I’m getting a taste of that with the book, you know? A lot of people are talking about the doc and yeah, that is a version of my work, but I’m not a producer on that for a reason, and I can’t say I was a hired gun for that, but I didn’t really, I couldn’t really shape that in the way that it ultimately what was presented.”
He continued, “The book though I did, and that I’m really proud of. That’s the hardest job I’ve ever had, and the most rewarding hands down period, the end.”
Sheen’s memoir, The Book of Sheen, chronicles his rise to fame, battles with addiction, and journey to sobriety.
He previously revealed in an interview with New York Times, that while he’s open to acting again, he isn’t “actively pursuing” a comeback.
“I’m a little out of practice. I could do another sitcom falling out of bed, and that’s nothing against sitcoms,” he told the outlet in September. “That’s just a gear that is readily accessible. Being right now comfortable enough on camera to deliver something really dramatic would take a little bit of a warm-up.”
Now, he tells host Graham Bensinger he’s not ready to “give up the autonomy of being my own boss.”
“I don’t have any interest in doing a bunch of art house films that play in one city and wind up on the carousel and eight people see it, you know? I think if I’m going to do something it needs to feel like an event. needs to feel like something that people get excited about,” he added.
Sheen’s last credited role was nearly a decade ago, in the 2017 film 9/11.
