Chelsea have already made a decision on whether they will parade the Club World Cup trophy, before they have played the final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues hope to become the first winners of the revamped Club World Cup when they take on PSG at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday.

It will be no easy task for Enzo Maresca’s side as they face the Champions League winners who are full of confidence after romping through the knockout stages.

A 4-0 win over Inter Miami in the last 16 was followed by a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich and then another 4-0 rout over Real Madrid in the semis.

Chelsea have not been so dominant, beating Benfica 4-1, although needing extra time to do so, before a 2-1 win over Palmeiras and a 2-0 victory over Fluminense.

Both finalists have already pocketed a huge amount of money for reaching the final but there is more to be won, along with the incredible new trophy.

However, if Chelsea do manage to get their hands on the eye-catching prize, do not expect to see it on the streets of London later this summer.

Will Chelsea host a trophy parade?

The decision has already been made and if Chelsea do win the Club World Cup there will be no trophy parade, according to the BBC.

With the competition taking up the first half of the summer, the Chelsea players are in need of a break before the Premier League season starts.

Any further club commitments would not have been received positively by the Blues squad, even if it was something to celebrate their success with their fans back at home.

There is precious little time for the players to have a holiday even without the potential of a parade, with Chelsea’s first Premier League fixture of the 2025-26 season coming against Crystal Palace on August 17.

Players are due to report back at the club on August 4, with their first pre-season friendly taking place on August 8 against Bayer Leverkusen at Stamford Bridge.

Clearly the Blues do not need a string of friendlies after their efforts in America so far this summer, but they will also face AC Milan in west London on August 10, before taking on the Eagles a week later.

Chelsea also chose not to have a trophy parade after winning the UEFA Conference League in May, similarly because the schedule has been so packed.

The Premier League campaign finished with a crucial 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on May 25, with the win over Real Betis in the Conference League final just three days later on May 28.

The Blues’ Club World Cup opener was on June 16 against LAFC and their campaign comes to an end against PSG in New Jersey on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the Club World Cup, Maresca admitted his concerns over injuries and fatigue to his players.

‘For sure there is a chance we have players who because of the amount of games they can get injured or be tired,’ he told the Athletic. ‘Then we see how we need to be.

‘Is it an added challenge for the players to think they have to play so many games? For me, it’s not normal and it is not correct. I can understand people thinking ‘yeah but they earn (so) much money, that it’s not a problem’ but it’s about health, protecting players.’
