Chiefs qualify for first CAFCC group stage in 12 years

Kaizer Chiefs have advanced to the CAF Confederation Cup group stages after a comfortable 3-1 win over DR Congo’s AS Simba at the Dobsonville Stadium.

The last time Amakhosi moved beyond the second round was of the tournament was 12 years ago when they lost to Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas.

Following a goalless stalemate in the first leg in Lubumbashi last weekend, Amakhosi finished the job in Johannesburg.

All three goals came in the first half through Etiosa Ighodaro (3rd min), Zitha Kwinika (14th) and Glody Lilepo (26).
