Mexico calls for an end to the US block on Cuba

Ambassador Vasconcelos in the UN headquarters in New York said that:
“Mexico will always advocate for the peaceful resolution of disputes and, therefore, rejects sanctions and trade blockades that only harm the well-being of the people and they do not build regions of peace or prosperity.”
He also expressed that “the Cuban people deserve a more encouraging future and that they are not subject to decisions that were made in a historical, political and economic context very distant from the one we live in today.”
Positioning of the SRE
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE)headed by Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente, pointed out that Mexico explicitly states that there should be no sanctions of any kind.
