Cold and breezy weather grips the KwaZulu-Natal coast and interior – Bundlezy

Cold and breezy weather grips the KwaZulu-Natal coast and interior

KwaZulu-Natal experienced a cold start to the day, with coastal areas waking up to temperatures below 10°C and inland regions even colder.

According to SABC meteorologist Joel Guy, on 8 July, Richards Bay started the day with light rain and a chilly 16°C.

Weather: Drizzle and Wind in Coastal Regions

“Light rain and drizzle were observed early this morning for Richards Bay and the north coast,” said Guy. However, weather conditions are expected to improve later.

“It will become dry here as we head towards the afternoon hours, with Richards Bay warming up to around 22 to 24 degrees.”

Durban also faced cooler conditions and windy weather.

“It will be windy in Durban with fresh north-easterlies along much of the East Coast,” Guy confirmed.

Interior Stays Cool

While the coast may warm up during the day, the interior of KwaZulu-Natal will remain cooler.

“It is going to be cooler over the province’s interior,” said Guy.

Despite the wind, skies are expected to remain mostly fine across the province, offering some relief from the overcast start to the weather.

Breezy days ahead

Guy added that while the coast will stay breezy, inland areas will remain calmer, but the weather will be cold.

“It’s still winter, and we can expect these chilly mornings to persist for a while longer.”
