The National Meteorological Service (SMN), the official climate source of the Government of Mexico, reported this Friday, October 24, about the effects that cold front number 10 will bring to several regions of the country. These are the details of the forecast:

This day, the subtropical jet stream and a trough at medium and high levels of the atmosphere will travel through the northwest and north of the country, interacting with the approach of a new cold front (No. 10) to the northern border of Mexicoconditions that will cause strong gusts of wind in the aforementioned regions; as well as showers and heavy rains with electric shocks in Sonora and Chihuahua. At the same time, strong winds with gusts of 55 to 70 km/h are expected in Coahuila; and gusts of 65 to 80 km/h with possible formation of whirlwinds in the north of Chihuahua.

The cold front (No. 10) will travel through northern Mexicoin interaction with a low pressure channel over the northeast of the country, a high-altitude trough and the subtropical jet stream, will cause strong winds and cooling of temperatures in these regions, as well as occasional heavy rains, winds with gusts of 65 to 80 km/h and possible formation of whirlwinds or tornadoes in areas of Chihuahua and Coahuila.

The cold front (No. 10) will gradually move through the north and northeast of Mexicointeracting with an upper-level trough and the subtropical jet stream, will maintain the probability of strong winds in these regions; as well as winds with gusts of 65 to 80 km/h and possible formation of whirlwinds in areas of Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.
