Comedian Andy Dick has spoken out to fans after he was found unresponsive outside a Hollywood building.
The comic, 59, sparked fears he may have suffered an overdose after he was found slumped over and unresponsive on the streets of Hollywood.
The actor was reportedly aided by pedestrians and witnesses who tried to revive the star.
TMZ obtained pics of Andy, unconscious, on cement stairs outside a building in Hollywood during the day on Tuesday.
Dick has since spoken out, confirming to TMZ that he’s OK. He didn’t reveal any details about the medical incident.
A representative for the Los Angeles Fire Department told TMZ that they responded to the location for an overdose involving a 59-year-old man who was not transported to a hospital.
Dick is best known for his various comic roles and for appearing in a number of Comedy Roast specials and films such as Zoolander, Dude, Where’s My Car and Employee of the Month.
He started his television comedy career as a cast member on the sketch comedy program The Ben Stiller Show in the 90s and had success in the noughties.
Dick had two short-lived television series on MTV: the sketch comedy series The Andy Dick Show in 2001 and the reality series The Assistant in2004.
In 2012, he revealed he had been in and out of rehab more than 10 times.
‘I would always say that I didn’t have a problem with drugs and alcohol,” he told Vice in 2016. ‘But I would drink when I was happy, when I was sad, when I was anxious.
‘Without drugs or alcohol, I was depressed, frustrated, angry’
Dick has previously been convicted of drug offences. In 1999, he was arrested after being found in possession of cocaine and marijuana after crashing into a telephone pole.
In 2008, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanour drug charges.
In2022, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail and forced to register as sex offender after ‘groping an Uber driver’.
It’s also claimed that Dick will have to register as a sex offender, attend 52 Alcoholics Anonymous sessions, 52 sexual compulsion anonymous sessions and 12 mental health counselling sessions.
The same year, he was also arrested for allegedly stealing power tools. The actor was reportedly charged with first-degree residential burglary after an incident in Santa Barbara.
