Companies with venture capital input turned over 21.7 billion euros in 2023. Revenues exceed the average of national companies by 12 times and create 15 times more jobs.
The data emerges among the conclusions of a study carried out by ISCTE, at the request of APCRI – Portuguese Venture Capital Association. Exports increasingly weigh on the businesses of the companies in question, it is also indicated.
On average, companies that have participation from Private Equity and Venture Capital management companies record revenues that multiply by 12.3 the average of companies established in Portugal. With regard to employment, the difference is even greater, in the order of 15.1 times, as they generate a total of 117 thousand jobs.
At the same time, participating companies pay, on average, 2.2 million euros in IRC, for each financial year (12 months). Exports represent almost half 49% of turnover, according to the same study.
The data was revealed in a press release, but the study will only be revealed to the public on Wednesday, October 29th.
