Kaizer Chiefs have had a flying start with three straight wins: 2-0 over Stellenbosch FC, 1-0 against Polokwane City FC and another narrow 1-0 victory over Richards Bay without conceding a goal.
However, Thabo Cele has reminded fans that last season, the same team conceded 32 goals, the third-worst record in the league. AmaZulu (34) and Marumo Gallants (39) were the only sides to concede more.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday night’s clash against Richards Bay FC at FNB Stadium, Cele revealed where he thinks Kaizer Chiefs must improve.

“If you look at it, our problem is that we play and then we concede on transitions. We’re trying to be in control, especially in the opponent’s half,” said the 28-year-old from KwaMashu, Durban.
“We want to create more opportunities and also maintain control in the opponent’s half. It’s those things that we’re trying to improve on, you know, tactically.

“Playing for this club, expectations are always there, and we’re here because, you know, we want to handle that expectation. And, you know, what they’re [supporters] expecting is good results, like how we started. But obviously not everything is perfect,” Cele added.
