Conjoined twin Carmen just got married in secret, but her sister Lupita plans to stay single

Conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade have never shied away from talking about their lives, and in a new and exciting update, Carmen revealed she has secretly married her long-time boyfriend, Daniel McCormack.

The Andrade twins might be the most famous conjoined twins on the planet, in part due to their huge social media platforms. Carmen has 80k followers on Instagram and Lupita has 150k, and they’re frequent staples of YouTube with nearly 300k subscribers. Outside of their own channel, Carmen and Lupita have appeared on reality TV and internet shows such as Jubilee’s We’re Conjoined Twins: Ask Us Anything and Brandon Rogers’ My Conjoined Kids HATE Me!

“We eloped in October with our families,” Carmen told TODAY this week.

In a YouTube video called “Overdue Update”, Carmen brandished a sparkly ring as she said, “We should probably also address something else pretty big. I did get married.”

Daniel, who Carmen introduced as “The husband” in the video, then joked that he’d “recieved an upgrade” at their secret wedding last October. Carmen had worn an emerald green gown, because she doesn’t like white, and Daniel sported a dark suit and matching green bow-tie.

“Before anybody gets it twisted: We got married,” Carmen said, pointing to herself and Daniel. Then, gesturing to herself, Daniel, and Lupita, she added, “But we did not get married.”

“I don’t want to get married,” Lupita added.

Unlike her conjoined twin, Lupita doesn’t want to get married

Carmen and Lupita are connected at the torso and share a pelvis and reproductive system, with each of them having two arms and only one leg. But despite being physically connected, their wants and needs are very different as Lupita identifies as asexual with little to no romantic attraction.

“I’m asexual, but I want Carmen to settle down. I know that’s important to her,” Lupita said in 2023.

Though they do love children, neither Carmen nor Lupita wants, nor is able to have, kids.

“Lupita and I can’t get pregnant, we have endometriosis and we’re also on a hormone blocker that prevents us from menstruating,” Carmen said in the same interview.
