Mexico adds more than 1,600 queries in 15 days about the results of the Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Canada (T-MEC) between national industrialists and businessmen.
Through questionnaires to collect relevant information and carry out a statistical analysis of them, classifying contributions according to chapters of the T-MECprogress is being made in the consultations, said the Ministry of Economy.
It was reported that in the first 15 days of these works, productive sectors in several states of the Republic, as well as part of the labor movement, have been consulted.

Consultations prior to the review of the T-MEC in two weeks
Two weeks into this consultation process prior to the review of the trade agreement in 2026, 13 sectoral and 13 state roundtables have been held. The Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrardproposed a strategy for this review of the USMCAas the agreement is called in USAthat “it is necessary to consult and listen to everyone.” It was highlighted that these works seek to build consensus on the priorities that our country must address during the next review of the agreement.
“In the last week, the agency organized nine sectoral working groups in ICT (information technologies); professional services; agribusiness; light vehicles; metal products, metalworking and derivatives; circular economy; aerospace; footwear, textiles and clothing; and cement, glass and ceramics, as well as eight state ones in Coahuila, Oaxaca, Aguascalientes, Sonora, Tabasco, Hidalgo, Michoacán y Tamaulipaswith the objective of collecting information, comments and proposals from the different productive sectors and relevant economic actors in trade with North America.
He added that in the 32 federal entities:
“The point of view, the priorities, the concerns of the productive sectors are being collected. We are working with 30 sectors of the economy, also consulting their points of view, their proposals and very importantly, we are consulting for the first time with the labor sector,” explained Marcelo Ebrard.
Ebrard recalled that, in the week that ends, he met with both the Business Coordinating Councilas well as with the labor movement – in a meeting co-organized with the Secretary of Labor, Marath Bolañosin order to listen and take into account the points of view and know the priorities of each other.

The head of Economy emphasized that he seeks to reach January 2026with as broad a national position as possible. “That is the objective. For that we must consult, debate, deliberate and conclude,” he explained. He insisted that each federal entity seeks to ensure that the instructions that we have as a negotiating team have the broadest possible support in the Republic and that they reflect the concerns of the different sectors.
