A Coronation Street and Waterloo Road actor has reportedly split from his girlfriend, after previously dating his co-star.

Liam Scholes, who is 22, was in a relationship with Elle Mulvaney, who has played Amy Barlow in Corrie since 2010.

The two connected when Liam was playing the role of Eli Higginson in the show during 2021. He was part of Corey Brent’s (Maximus Evans) gang, who attacked Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Seb (Harry Visinoni).

Liam and his new girlfriend Roisin were first spotted together at a red carpet event in Manchester. After just over a year together, the two have now parted ways, with Liam removing pictures of him and Roisin from his Instagram.

‘Liam and Roisin tried to make things work, but they are both young and grew apart’, a source said.

‘They got together very quickly after he broke up with Elle and, in the end, I think it was too soon’.

They added to The Sun: ‘He and Roisin are still following each other on social media though, so they seem keen to keep things friendly.’

Metro has contacted Liam’s representative for a comment.

Liam has been playing the role of Noel McManus in Waterloo Road since 2023.

The character works as a kitchen assistant apprentice at the school, and is also Stace Neville’s (Tillie Amartey) fiancé.

Last year, we were introduced to Noel’s grandma Mo, played by Coronation Street’s Denise Black.

Mo was somewhat of a liability and had the school kids renovate her community centre without permission from the council.

This year’s returning series of the show saw Denise Welch reprise her role as Steph Haydock.

A powerful storyline also aired that saw a student get groomed by a football coach, who was played by former Emmerdale star Karl Davies.
