Coronation Street fans have been taken by surprise after learning that a current character is a close relative of the new Rovers Return owners.
A new family is set to take over the iconic boozer next week, fronted by Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), who returns to the cobbles after seven years.
But she isn’t the only familiar face among the clan, as fans have spotted in a new promo image.
Earlier this year, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) started dating again for the first time after Joel Deering, and new beau Ollie had an air of mystery about him.
He sparked suspicion among viewers when he began asking Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) a lot of questions, though now it is clear why.
It turns out that Ollie is Eva’s step-son, which has left fans stunned.

During her time away from Weatherfield, Eva married newcomer Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), who had two sons, one of whom was Ollie.
‘Ollie being Ben’s son was not on my bingo card, but it makes a lot of sense now… his interest in the Rovers… his interest in Toyah… he was scouting for his fambam,’ Jess said on Twitter/X.
‘We knew Eva was coming back with Susie, a husband Ben, a monster-in-law Maggie, and 2 sons. But Ollie being one of those sons, was not on my BINGO card,’ Olivia agreed.
Over on Reddit, fans were equally surprised, with one saying: ‘So it turns out Ollie is Ben’s son and Eva’s step-son. Well that’s certainly a plot twist I did not expect at all! Makes sense now why he was so interested in Toyah and also who owned the Rovers, planning for his fam!’

Another fan revealed he expected Ollie’s backstory to be completely different, writing: ‘I assumed he was some sort of investigator or something – working for Joel’s parents.’
Viewers will know that Eva and Toyah both share a sister in Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), and it is safe to say that things have not been good between Toyah and Leanne of late, after Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) affair.
After learning that Ben has bought her the Rovers, one of Eva’s first missions is to try and clear the air between her sisters.

Meanwhile, how will Dee-Dee react when she learns that Ollie’s family are moving in on her doorstep?
Joining Ben, Eva and Ollie in the pub will be Eva’s daughter Susie, who we last saw as a baby, Ben’s youngest son Will, and his mum, Maggie, played by Father Ted legend Pauline McLynn.
As Eva and Ben throw an opening night party to welcome the regulars, Maggie stuns them when she shows and up and drops the bombshell that she’s moving in.
Eva is clearly horrified by the notion, but will she allow Maggie to dampen her spirits?
