Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) is set to receive some major news about his cancer in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
Kevin was diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this year, and has since undergone surgery and has been receiving chemotherapy.
At first, he struggled with his diagnosis and refused to tell his family, but eventually opened up to wife Abi Webster (Sally Carman) who has been supporting him ever since.
However, Kevin’s health problems drew brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) back to Weatherfield, and he has since had his eye on Abi, trying to persuade her to embark on a sordid affair with him.
Though Abi has insisted on staying true to her ailing husband, she has clearly been tempted on more than one occasion.
Next week, Kevin gets a shock when he finds a message from Carl on Abi’s phone stating that he’d like to get to know her better.
Furious, Abi warns Carl not to text her again, explaining that Kevin saw it.
With Carl having mocked-up another fake MOT certificate, Abi later shows Kevin a car the conman worked on, pointing out his shoddy workmanship.
However, when Kevin checks the CCTV, he is fuming to see Abi tampering with the car…
The next day, Abi tells seething Kevin that she is nervous about the results of his upcoming tests, though she finds herself unable to join him at his appointment.
After attending an urgent breakdown call, Abi is furious to find Carl lazing around at the garage.
However, he is unrepentant and changes the subject by admitting that he can’t stop thinking about her.
As he insists that he knows she feels the same, Abi swears that she loves Kevin and she’s happy with how things are.
Meanwhile, Kevin meets with his consultant, but will he get the results he’s hoping for?
Actress Sally Carman revealed that Kevin’s results could have a huge impact on her relationship with Carl, especially if he gets the all-clear.
‘I think it would be a green light to perhaps put some distance between her and Kev to decide what she actually wants,’ she teased.
However, if the results weren’t to go Kevin’s way, it would be a completely different scenario.
‘She’d have to just resign herself and make peace with the fact that if he’s still ill then she’s going to stay and help him get better because it’s the very least she can do after what he’s done for her.
‘But if he was to come back and be okay, that would be a whole different ball game…’
