Coronation Street legend reeling as her ex proposes to her sister

Coronation Street’s Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) certainly has some nerve continuing her relationship with Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) while her sister and Nick’s ex Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) lives on the cobbles with them.

The two character began an affair in 2024, when Leanne got heavily involved with cult organisation The Institute.

As the cult started taking up more and more of Leanne’s attention, Nick realised he was becoming attracted to Toyah and soon the feeling was mutual.

Leanne discovered Toyah and Nick’s affair after snooping on cult leader Rowan’s (Emrhys Cooper) laptop. He had folders containing images of Toyah and Nick kissing, allowing Leanne to not only discover the betrayal, but that the cult leader had been blackmailing them.

Toyah and Nick both knew they were taking a massive risk by exploring their romantic feelings for each other, but they also couldn’t ignore them. They decided to begin a relationship, leaving Leanne forced to move out of the flat and start her life again.

In upcoming episodes, Leanne gets a pleasant surprise as she spots her sister Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) on the cobbles.

Eva has returned to Weatherfield because her partner, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) has bought the Rovers Return for her. After the big surprise, Eva hugs Leanne and urges her to fetch Toyah so they can all have a drink together.

Leanne agrees but just as she enters the Bistro, she finds Nick on one knee, in the middle of proposing to Toyah!

Meanwhile, in the pub, Eva’s young daughter Susie (Aurora Bradshaw) arrives closely followed by Dee-Dee Bailey’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) boyfriend Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike), who is Ben’s son.

As Ben and Ollie chat about a business proposition, Toyah enters and starts having a go at Leanne. Eva is forced to step in and then orders everyone out except her sisters.

Locking the door, Eva tells Leanne and Toyah that they’re not leaving until their differences are sorted out once and for all.

A lot has happened in the time Eva has been away from Weatherfield. How will this conversation play out?

Discussing her return to Corrie and reprising the role of Eva, Cath said: ‘Eva does have that side to her and she’s great fun and can be dizzy and spontaneous, but she is a very strong woman and we start to see even more reasons why, as time goes on, why she has got this inner strength.

‘And also, she’s her mother’s daughter, Stella was a really strong woman, and that is probably part of the reason why her and Maggie clash so much, they’re such strong personalities. But again, to bring that fun dynamic into The Rovers, especially with Sean and Glenda, has just been an absolute scream.’

‘It’s extra lovely to come back to’, she added, reflecting on the dynamic between Eva, Leanne and Toyah.

‘That dynamic, the three witches reunited, it’s great. It’s strong women, again, and when they’re together, they’re even stronger, they’re a real force to be reckoned with, they’ve got each other’s backs, it’s that solidarity, it’s such a joy to play as an actress – the three concubines of Nick Tilsley!

‘The girls are just a dream and we’ve stayed in touch. I felt really welcomed by everyone, especially my sisters, so it’s great that we’ve got lots of stuff coming up together.’
