A Coronation Street legend left her family concerned in tonight’s episode when she collapsed in terrifying scenes.

Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has been on a health kick since being diagnosed with young-onset dementia earlier this year, taking on more exercise as part of her new regime.

After going for her run this evening, Debbie popped round to see sister-in-law Abi Webster (Sally Carman), only to find that she wasn’t in.

As Debbie set about cleaning up the place, she was suddenly struck by dizziness and promptly collapsed in the living room.

However, she wasn’t alone in the house, as Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) was hiding upstairs.

When Abi got home and found him crouched over an unconscious Debbie, she wasted no time in sending him back into his hiding place and calling for help.

Viewers will know that Carl is having to keep a low profile, as he had told everyone he was going to see an ex in Wales.

Of course, this was just a cover so that he could spend a few days alone with Abi.

The pair have been having a sordid affair behind Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) back, with Abi lying about losing her passport to avoid going on holiday with him and the kids.

Before Carl disappeared upstairs again, Abi asked if Debbie had seen him, and he assured her that she hadn’t.

By the time Debbie came to, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) had arrived and she was able to tell him what she remembered from before her fall.

She explained that she had been fine while exercising but suddenly had a funny turn while cleaning up in the living room.

Though Debbie seemed okay, they decided to take her to hospital just to be on the safe side.

While they were waiting for the results of her blood test, Ronnie made her promise to take it easy from now on, fearing she had had another TIA.

Debbie has already had two of these mini-strokes in the past, which has alarmed her family.

Debbie agreed, before revealing that she thought she had heard Carl’s voice after she fell.

As Ronnie pointed out that he was in Wales, Debbie put it down to her hearing voices and moved on.

This isn’t the first time Debbie has almost uncovered Carl and Abi’s affair, having previously walked in on them sharing a clandestine conversation before suffering a TIA and having no memory of what she’d seen.

When Carl arrived at the hospital in tonight’s episode, making out that he’d come from Wales after Ronnie called, Debbie revealed that she had low blood pressure and that, despite her low blood sugar, she would be fine.

Though they were relieved it wasn’t another TIA, Ronnie and Carl urged her to take a few days off, and she reluctantly agreed.

Carl was then caught off guard when Debbie explained that she had heard his voice and sworn he was there when she collapsed.

He tried to stay neutral as she laughed it off as her imagination, but could the pressure of the secret be set to get to him?

It isn’t just Debbie he and Abi need to worry about, as Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) caught them kissing in tonight’s episode and is now blackmailing them in exchange for her silence.

Will they find the £10,000 needed to keep her quiet, or is their affair set to be exposed in an explosive way?
