Channique Sterling-Brown has confirmed she’s wrapped on Coronation Street – meaning Dee-Dee Bailey is leaving in just weeks.
Metro understands that the actress, 28 has decided to take the opportunity to pursue new projects, with her departure expected in the coming months.
Her exit comes after three drama-filled years on the cobbles for the much-loved character, which have seen her projected into a number of high-stakes storylines, mostly based around her relationship with vile abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
After the news of her forthcoming departure hit the headlines, Channique took to Instagram to reflect on her time in the show.
‘After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles,’ she wrote.
‘Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions.’
She then, of course, added a series of episodic screenshots displaying an ever-changing reactionary face from Dee-Dee.
Now, she’s confirmed that her time in Weatherfield is over – and she had another personal achievement to celebrate.

Heading to social media again, Channique posted two photographs.
One of these was her jumping outside of the serial’s studios in Trafford, Greater Manchester, while the other was her posing in running gear, holding a medal for completing the Manchester Half Marathon.
‘Thats a wrap x2! Quite the week, she doesn’t do things by half(except marathons😏),’ she wrote.
Fans and colleagues rushed to the comments to share their support to the star.

How will Dee-Dee leave Coronation Street?
There’s no clear indication of a departure storyline for out Dee-Dee, but it’s entirely possible that she could leave during the Corriedale crossover episode, which is filming now.
The ep will air in the New Year and see the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale combine for one very special hour of television.
There’s no clear indicator of what her final storyline might entail – but it could well be to do with her disastrous love life.
There could be a happier start on the horizon though – with newcomer Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike).
The only problem is, he’s already began to display odd behaviours, asking some interesting questions to Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor).
Intrigued by her name, he asked her about how it came about. She explained that mum Janice (Vicky Entwistle) was a fan of 80s punk princess Toyah Wilcox.

‘I think Dee-Dee is very apprehensive entering into anything new, and her heckles went up at his behaviour,’ she explained to Metro at the Cure Usher Ball.
‘I think she’s very hypervigilant but we’ll see how it turns out. I don’t think he’s all that bad!’

She continued: ‘I think there’s going to be some really exciting stuff for Dee-Dee on the horizon, which I’m really excited for people to see and find out about. You’ll have to keep watching to see it!’
