Catherine Tyldesley’s character Eva Price is a modern-day Coronation Street icon, known for several attributes, not least her feisty attitude, her propensity for doomed relationships and her glamourous blonde waves.
While Catherine has surely retained her alter-ego’s fiery attitude, she’d been a rocking sultry brunette look until recently.
Taking to her Instagram, Catherine uploaded a picture of her newly lightened locks as she prepares to make her return to the cobbles.
‘Recent blonde shenanigans…I think they really DO have more fun’ she captioned the series of shots.
Catherine is making her return as Eva after a seven year absence from the street, to take over as landlady of the Rovers Return, but she certainly isn’t coming alone.
She’ll be accompanied by her beau, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and his mother Maggie (Pauline McLynn).
They’ll be accompanied by Eva’s daughter, Susie, and Ben’s two sons.

‘We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow.
The Driscolls do not arrive quietly, so expect big drama, explosive secrets and raucous knees ups galore.’ said Corrie boss Kate Brooks.
‘To have actors of Catherine, Aaron and Pauline’s considerable calibre at the beating heart of this family is absolutely wonderful, and we can’t wait for you to get to know and fall in love with them as much as we have already done. Strap yourselves in, it’s going to be an exciting and eventful ride.’

Eva’s first stint on the cobbles involved her tumultuous relationship with Aidan Connor (Shane Ward). Aidan had an affair with Maria Connor, leading a vengeful Eva to seek revenge by faking a pregnancy and conspiring to strip the factory bare, annihilating Aidan financially.
When she later discovered she was pregnant with Aidan’s child, she made a deal with Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) to pass the child off as Toyah and Peter Barlow’s (Chris Gascoyne) surrogate baby, which ultimately failed when Eva bonded deeply with baby Susie. She left the cobbles following the tragic suicide of on-and-off love, Aidan, leaving for a new life in France.
