Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) was left terrified in Coronation Street earlier this week when he found himself on the receiving end of boyfriend Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) rage.

Todd and Theo had both had bad days, with Todd choosing to head to the Rovers to take his mind off the particularly heartbreaking funeral he had worked.

Meanwhile, Theo faced wife Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) in a mediation meeting about the custody of their children, which was made ten times worse by the presence of her new boyfriend Noah, who had subjected Theo to conversion therapy as a teenager.

His plan to head home and talk it through with Todd was derailed by the undertaker’s trip to the pub, and though Theo told him over the phone that he should stay there, it was clear he wasn’t happy about it.

Things only escalated when Theo realised that Todd was with Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), and it all came to a head when Todd returned home.

In devastating scenes, Todd faced a torrent of verbal abuse from Theo, before being force-fed kebab meat by his boyfriend.

Afterwards, Theo announced that he was leaving, and spent the night sleeping in his van.

In tonight’s episode, however, he was determined to make it up to Todd, and became increasingly more wound up when he refused to answer his texts or calls.

After snapping at Gary Windass (Mikey North), Theo bumped into Billy, with a tense confrontation ensuing.

Billy managed to calm Theo down enough for him to explain what had led to his rage the previous evening, before the scaffolder asked him to talk to Todd and give him the opportunity to explain.

The vicar hesitantly agreed, and was soon sat opposite Todd in the Rovers.

Having passed on Theo’s message, Billy was surprised when Todd asked for his opinion on his relationship.

Despite pointing out that he couldn’t tell him what to do, Billy admitted that Todd hadn’t been himself since dating Theo, which left Todd with a lot to think about.

When Theo arrived at the pub to apologise, Todd agreed to hear him out, but insisted they have the conversation in private.

As Todd tried to get his head round why Theo would request Billy’s help, he asked if he was going to take responsibility for his appalling behaviour the night before.

When Theo tried to make out that they were both at fault, Todd was disgusted, admitting that he was terrified his boyfriend was going to kill him.

With Theo refusing to take responsibility, Todd ordered him out, insisting that he needed time to think.

Will Todd end things with Theo once and for all, or will Theo worm his way back into Todd’s good books?
