Country star Pat Green has revealed that several of his family members have been killed in the floods devastating central Texas.

Floods across Texas have killed more than 110 people, including at least 27 children.

Over 170 people are still missing, with search and rescue efforts entering the sixth day of sifting through debris.

Green, 53, best known for his hit songs Wave on Wave and Carry On, has revealed that he is among the many Texans grieving, as he revealed his brother John, and John’s wife and two children, have been caught in the floods and are still missing.

In a post on social media, he revealed: ‘Over the weekend, during the devastating flooding that hit Central Texas, my family — like so many others — suffered a heartbreaking and deeply personal loss.

‘We are grieving alongside countless Texans whose lives have been upended by this tragedy.

‘Right now, we kindly ask for privacy and space as we mourn, support each other and begin to process what comes next for our family.

‘Thank you for your love, prayers, and compassion.’

‘We are heartbroken and anxiously waiting for all of them to be found. Thank you for your prayers💗’

Green was scheduled to perform last Saturday in Luckenbach, a town about 60 miles from Kerr County.

The performance has now been postponed, and the star told fans at the time: ‘Due to the unforeseen weather and tragedy around the Texas Hill Country, it has been decided to postpone tomorrow night’s show w/ @corymorrowband and @dawnandhawkes to a later date.’

One of the biggest casualties during the flood has been the 27 adults and children who died in the flooding at Camp Mystic, a Christian girls’ camp.

Dozens of children are among the dead after floods swept across Kerr County in central Texas, causing the Guadalupe River’s water levels to rise more than eight metres in under an hour.

President of the United States Donald Trump signed a major disaster declaration on Sunday, allowing emergency disaster aid to be used to help first responders amid search and rescue efforts as cleanup begins.

The world leader has drawn criticism after images were shared of Trump spending the weekend golfing and eating ice cream in New Jersey rather than travelling to Kerr County to visit those affected by this horrific disaster.

Trump said he will ‘probably’ visit Texas later this week, but hasn’t yet set a date.
