If you were among the fans who believe that Jerry Jones likes to create drama, well, apparently, you were correct. The longtime Dallas Cowboys owner, who’s been at the center of one of the NFL’s strangest controversies this offseason, recently admitted that he’s more than happy to stir the pot and create some off-field action.
While attending the premiere of Netflix’s new documentary America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, Jones did several interviews, including one that turned more than a few heads.
Jerry Jones Calls the Dallas Cowboys a ‘Soap Opera 365 Days a Year’
During one noteworthy press segment, Jones spoke about the Cowboys and the team’s portrayal away from the field, comparing the franchise to a “soap opera.”
Jones, who bought the Cowboys in 1989, admitted that if things get slow, he’ll “stir it up.”
“If we’re not being looked at, I’ll do my part to get us looked at…” Jones said. “…The Cowboys are a soap opera 365 days a year. When it gets slow, I’ll stir it up.”
“There’s sizzle, there’s emotion, and if you will, there’s controversy. That controversy is good stuff in terms of keeping and having people’s attention.”

While the comments alone would have drawn plenty of attention, the fact that they were made by Jones just weeks after the Cowboys’ best defensive player, Micah Parsons, demanded a trade makes them even more significant.
