A horror movie branded ‘scary AF’ has finally landed on Amazon Prime Video, after dividing audiences around the world.
Wolf Man was released in cinemas earlier this year, starring Weapons actress Julia Garner and Girls’ Christopher Abbot.
Director Leigh Whannell’s reboot of the classic franchise focused on a family whose lives are turned upside down after they are preyed upon by a mysterious beast in a remote mountain range.
Christopher leads the cast as Blake Lovett, who travels to his old hometown with his wife, Charlotte (Julia), and their daughter following the death of his father.
On their journey, they get attacked by a mysterious creature and Blake is scratched in the fray, but soon begins to experience some strange symptoms from the injury…
Thankfully, the Blumhouse project has now arrived on streaming, so we can relive the scares once again.

Wolf Man left many divided and currently claims a Rotten Tomatoes score of 48% from critics, compared to a slightly higher mark of 55% from the audience.
However, many heaped praise on Leigh’s efforts on the platform, describing it as a ‘clever, modern approach’ to the hit films from the 40s.
Mike C commented: ‘This movie is criminally underrated, it was really good.’
‘Y’all are tripping,’ Richard B insisted. ‘This movie was scary AF, and beautifully filmed. It’s like An American Werewolf in London meets backwoods of Oregon.’

Keith M agreed: ‘Clever modern approach to a historic legend.’
‘I was surprised how much I enjoyed this,’ Craig B said. ‘Gripping story… not just a horror movie with a number of memorable sequences, but also a movie with a heart (no spoilers!).’
As Simon R added: ‘We really liked this film. A patient delivery, not rushed with apparently limited use of graphics.
‘Experiencing the slow change of his perception of the world around him was great.’

In an interview with Discussing Film, Leigh – who wrote the first three Saw films and much of the Insidious franchise – previously warned that movie lovers would be ‘emotionally affected’ by his version of the story.
‘Don’t come in expecting the usual. Expect something different and distinctive. I think audiences are ready for a new take on this enduring character,’ he said ahead of the release.
‘Hopefully, they will also have a great night out at the movies. They’ll be scared. They’ll be emotionally affected.
‘We have gone absolutely crazy with the sound of this film — it’s an audiovisual assault.’

‘I’m approaching Wolf Man from the angle of not feeling extreme pressure but turning it into something fun, which is just to make the version of this character you would want to see,’ he added.
‘Because if you want to see it, then there are more people who would also want to see it. It seemed to work with The Invisible Man.
‘Many horror fans said, “This is the Invisible Man movie we wanted.” So, I’m taking another swing.’
Wolf Man is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.
