From Nicole Kidman to Fosters beer, Australia has many famous exports, but perhaps none more so than Tim Tams.

The chocolate biscuit brand, hailed as ‘Aussie gold’, finally made its way to UK shores back in March 2024, much to the delight of fans.

And now, after ‘countless requests, messages and borderline begs’, Arnott’s, who make the treat, have announced the launch of Tim Tam White in the UK.

Sold exclusively in Sainsbury’s for £2,50 per pack, the new flavour will be available on shelves from 3 September.

And as you might accept, Tim Tam White is the same familiar taste as the original, but with creamy white chocolate.

Amber Dutkiewicz, Tim Tam market development manager, said: ‘It’s been great to see the overwhelmingly positive response to the launch of Tim Tam in the UK.

‘With the demand from consumers on social media, we knew it was time to bring the irresistible Tim Tam White to the UK. We can’t wait for Brits to finally try it.’

Snackers on social media are set to be thrilled about the new taste from Down Under. When the original version launched last year, it was met with celebration. On X, it was dubbed a ‘life changing announcement’, while another user hit the all caps button and wrote: ‘OH MY GOSH WE HAVE TIM TAMS IN THE UK NOW.’

Meanwhile, Redditors were equally thrilled: ‘Tim Tams are the best. I leave half a suitcase empty when I visit family. I go home with as many Tim Tams as will fit.’

Even Margot Robbie is a fan, famously declaring that her favourite Tim Tam flavour is the Murray River sea salt caramel (which sadly isn’t landing in the UK).

She added that the biscuit is an ‘Aussie staple,’ and to mark the 60 years since its creation, was gifted a pink box of Tim Tams labelled ‘Margot’s.’

The white chocolate flavour actually disappeared briefly in Australia back in 2009 after being released only as a limited edition, much to the horror of Aussie snackers.

‘Bring them back or I will die,’ wrote one dramatic user on Facebook.

It’s been a big week for lovers of Australian confectionary, as M&S have also added an iconic snack to their shelves.

The supermarket released Lamingtons, which our Aussie colleagues tell us is a beloved cake-based snack.

Of course, we got them to test the new offerings out… and they received some interesting reviews.

The Tim Tam Slam

Ever heard of the famous Tim Tam Slam? This combo endorses biting, sipping and slamming the biscuit with a ‘beverage of your choice.’

First, simply prepare a warm drink and select your favourite Tim Tam.

Next, bite off the diagonal corners – and don’t be tempted to bite your way through it, if you can resist.

Finally, use the Tim Tam as a straw, sucking your drink through it before putting the whole biscuit in your mouth and soaking up the moment.

One Reddit user claimed that a white chocolate Tim Tam with a matcha was the ‘perfect’ Tim Tam slam. You’re welcome.
