On Tuesday morning, authorities revealed that a decomposing body was found in the front trunk of an impounded Tesla vehicle that was registered to 20-year-old musician D4vd. However, it does not sound like the young artist is letting the grim discovery impact his world tour.
What We Know About the Incident
- A body was found inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to 20-year-old musician D4vd at an impound lot in Hollywood.
- The car was brought to the impound lot after “someone reported it abandoned” in Hollywood Hills. Police were called after workers “reported a strong odor” coming from the Tesla, according to NBC Los Angeles.
- The badly decomposed body was discovered inside a bag in the Tesla’s front trunk. The remains were not intact.
- The remains were so decomposed that authorities have said it will take some time to properly identify the body.
- The body belongs to a female with wavy black hair, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 71 pounds. The woman was found wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, and metal stud earrings, and had a tattoo on her right index finger that said “Shhh…”, according to ABC 7.
- ABC News reports that the Tesla “is one of several vehicles owned by the musician,” and that many people have access to his vehicles.
- D4vd is continuing his world tour but his team has indicated that he will fully cooperate with the investigation.
D4vd Concert Video Goes Viral
Despite the gruesome discovery in the car registered in his name, the 20-year-old artist decided to continue his world tour, which began early last month.
“D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities,” a spokesperson for D4vd told NBC Los Angeles on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, D4vd performed in front of a sold-out crowd in Minneapolis, just hours after news broke of the decomposing body found in his car. Videos from that performance have spread on social media, with one video in particular gaining a lot of traction.
At D4vd’s performances, he typically throws out three signed Labubu collectible dolls into the crowd to reward the spectators for their enthusiastic participation.
He did that once again at his performance in Minneapolis on Tuesday night, and the video from the show certainly turned heads, with many fans pointing out the sheer absurdity of the scene coming just hours after the headlines of the grim discovery.
“d4vd takes the stage in Minneapolis, giving away Labubus to the crowd, hours after a badly decomposed body was discovered in a Tesla registered to him,” the pop news account Kurrco wrote in a post sharing the video.

“I am the first in my bloodline to read this combination of words,” one person wrote in a reply on X.
“Try saying this headline to someone from 2006,” someone else added.
“just a truly incredible headline, one for the ages,” someone else wrote.
“That’s wild timing. From a shocking discovery to performing live and giving out merch this whole situation is surreal,” another person wrote.
Others came to his defense, pointing out that he is not currently a suspect and is just giving the fans the performance that they paid for.
“i mean he givin the people what they paid for d4vd isn’t a suspect and is said to be fully cooperating with police. he doin what he sposed to do rn,” someone else commented.
It is worth noting that authorities have not formally named D4vd a suspect in the case, and he has agreed to fully cooperate with the investigation.
