President Claudia Sheinbaum yesterday completed its sixth day of tours in the areas affected by the intense extraordinary rains that were recorded last week in five states of the country and that, according to the most recent report, they have left 76 dead and 31 missing.

Sheinbaum visited a temporary shelter, the community of El Carrizal in Pantepec, State of Puebla.

“We visited the municipality of Pantepec, Puebla to supervise the cleaning work and give a message to the affected people. We are not leaving anyone behind,” the president noted in a message on social networks.

While the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) pointed out that in the municipalities of Puebla, the federal and state governments support families affected by the rains with medical care, supplies and machinery.

Since last Saturday, The Mexican Government specified that the “extraordinary rains” hit the states of Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí and Querétaro, between October 7 and 11, 2025, although in its first reports it indicated the period from October 6 to 9.

The authorities placed the number of deceased people at 76 and lowered the number of missing or unlocated people to 31, which until Saturday was 39.

They are followed by Hidalgo, with 22 dead and 12 missing; Puebla with 19 deaths and five missing, and Querétaro with one death.

The report indicated that federal authorities stated that in the areas affected by the rains and subsequent floods and landslides, 329 roads remain closed and 335 have been opened.

While the affected municipalities are 109 in total, Veracruz (38), Hidalgo (28), Puebla (23), San Luis Potosí (12) and Querétaro (8) all with severe damage to homes, roads and crop areas.

Since October 10, the Mexican government has been in permanent session to address the emergency, in coordination with state governments and has estimated the impact on about 100,000 homes in the five states.
