Daniel Craig calls playing Benoit Blanc ‘Dumb Luck’

Daniel Craig attended the world premiere of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery at the Toronto International Film Festival on 6 September.

The film hits cinemas on 26 November and streams on Netflix from 12 December. Daniel Craig stars as detective Benoit Blanc in this third Knives Out film.

DANIEL CRAIG AS BENOIT BLANC

Daniel Craig told PEOPLE magazine on the red carpet that he feels incredibly fortunate to play Blanc. “How lucky am I to get to play something like this?” he said.

He called the role “dumb luck” after his tenure as Bond. “I’ve played Bond, and now I’m Benoit Blanc. It’s amazing.”

When asked if this film is his last time as the character, Craig was coy: “Who told you that? I don’t know yet.”

RIAN JOHNSON ON WRITING MORE ‘KNIVES OUT’

He explained that director Rian Johnson has not written any new scripts beyond this one. “If he writes another, and it’s as good as I hope, then it’s an easy decision.”

Johnson also attended the premiere with co-stars Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Mila Kunis and others. He previously opened up about continuing the series as long as he and Craig enjoy making the films.

This suggests the Knives Out saga may continue beyond this third movie.

The Knives Out movies have become hugely popular because they blend classic murder mystery elements with modern storytelling.

Each film offers a fresh setting, a new ensemble cast, and a clever, twist-filled plot that keeps audiences guessing until the very end.

Daniel Craig’s charismatic portrayal of detective Benoit Blanc adds charm and depth. He makes the character memorable and engaging.

FROM BOND TO BLANC

Daniel Craig’s transition from 007 to Blanc shows his range and charm, and fans can look forward to seeing him solve his “most dangerous case yet” in the new film.

“I’m very lucky,” Craig said simply. His passion and humility shine through as brightly as ever.
