David and Victoria Beckham are said to be quietly holding on to a ‘glimmer of hope’ that they may one day rebuild their relationship with their eldest son, Brooklyn.

The former footballer, 50, and the fashion designer, 51, have endured more than a year of fractured relations with Brooklyn, 26, following his marriage to Nicola Peltz.

Speculation about tensions first began after Brooklyn failed to attend any celebrations for his father’s milestone 50th birthday, a snub that reportedly left the couple devastated.

Now, according to The DailyMail, Nicola, 31, and Brooklyn have been represented in recent months by high-profile New York publicist Matthew Hiltzik, a crisis specialist whose previous clients have included Justin Bieber, Johnny Depp, and Sacha Baron Cohen.

‘Anyone who knows Hiltzik knows that by hiring him it would have meant he would aggressively pressurise the media not to print anything anti Nicola or Brooklyn. It is a real statement that she wanted to bullishly lead the narrative,’ a source told the publication.

However, sources now claim that Hiltzik has parted ways with the couple after just seven months, a move widely seen as a setback for Nicola and Brooklyn’s efforts to control the narrative around the feud.

While both parties insist the split was mutual, insiders suggest tensions had been growing behind the scenes, with frustration over ongoing negative coverage and social media activity that only appeared to inflame matters further.

‘Without that constant briefing war, things may finally cool down,’ one source said of the change.

Intriguingly, there are signs that Brooklyn himself may be less entrenched than recent headlines suggest.

A story circulated in the New York Post claimed relations had begun to calm before reports emerged of a legal ‘cease and desist’ letter allegedly sent to David and Victoria last summer via London law firm Schillings.

An insider quoted in the piece said: ‘Brooklyn wants to do anything to make Nicola happy, but this is all getting out of control. I can’t imagine a world where Brooklyn wouldn’t want to see his parents again.’

Friends of David and Victoria say they have reluctantly accepted that their son does not want contact ‘for now,’ despite once being exceptionally close.

Meanwhile, the couple have continued to live their lives publicly, recently sharing images from Nicola’s 31st birthday celebrations.

Still, sources close to the Beckhams insist the door has never been closed. ‘They miss him terribly,’ one said.

‘It’s clear Brooklyn wants to keep Nicola happy, but maybe one day he’ll reach a point where he wants to reconnect with his parents too. Nothing would make David and Victoria happier than that.’

For now, the family remains divided, but with the PR battle seemingly losing momentum, those on both sides are quietly wondering whether this could mark the beginning of a slow, cautious path back to reconciliation.
