This Saturday, November 1, the parade of Day of the Dead 2025which will travel through Paseo de la Reforma and streets of the Historic Center of Mexico City.
The event expected by many will be at 2:00 p.m. and will depart from the Puerta de los Leones del Bosque de Chapultepec to the Plaza de la Constitución.
Along the way, attendees will be able to enjoy monumental floats, troupes, catrinas, music and much more that will transform the main avenues into a spectacle full of color.
Among the amenities that will be paraded are:
- Two large-scale, skull-type puppets; 20 cars, with catrinas inside, accompanied by a contingent of 18 stilt walkers and zanqueras with skills to walk and dance on stilts during the 2025 Day of the Dead Parade with the theme of catrinas and catrines.
- Giant trajinera: 8 m long x 2.80 m wide, a height of 4.30 m; approximate weight of 1,200 kilograms and capacity for 15 passengers.
- Also skulls, batucada, 4 warrior goddesses of the Underworld, which are figures that combine pre-Hispanic strength and contemporary spirituality, among others.

How did the Day of the Dead Parade come about in Mexico City?
The first edition of the Day of the Dead Parade in the Mexico City It took place on October 29, 2016.
Its origin is an inspiration from an opening scene of the film “Spectre” from the James Bond franchise.
In the film, a scene showed a fictitious parade that made a great impression on the public, so the Government of Mexico City decided to make it a reality.
Currently, the Parade is already an important part of the Day of the Dead festivities, where the great variety of ornamentation is reflected in each of the costumes, alebrijes, catrinas, etc.
This parade aims honor and celebrate life and death, remembering deceased loved ones while maintaining Mexican traditions.
