Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), along with the rest of Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) loved ones, will find out about her dementia diagnosis this week in Coronation Street.
Shortly after being told her health news, Debbie dumped Ronnie. It wasn’t because she no longer wanted to be with him, it was because she believed he deserved someone better.
Since then, while both characters have been respectful of each other, there’s also been an undercurrent of them both knowing the wrong choice had been made.
In upcoming episodes, an event is held at Speed Daal as a result of a flood occurring at Debbie’s hotel. After noticing a moment between Abi (Sally Carman) and Carl (Jonathan Howard), Debbie suddenly collapses.

When she regains consciousness, Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Abi tell Debbie that she’s going to hospital, but Debbie says no, revealing that she already knows what’s wrong – she has dementia.
In the aftermath, Ronnie is given an idea after a chat with Carl, who has known about Debbie’s diagnosis since the very start.
Ronnie visits Debbie with a bottle of champagne in his hand and asks if she’ll have him back.
Debbie refuses to entertain the idea though, admitting that she loves him, but would rather he finds happiness with someone else than be her carer.
But will Ronnie be able to convince Debbie to get back together?
Here’s hoping.
