Everyone wants clear, glowy and amazing skin, and it’s time to forget the expensive creams and serums. A doctor has revealed all you need to do is eat one food every day to get it.
Speaking on the A Really Good Cry podcast, Dr. Noreen Galaria, a board certified dermatologist and plastic surgeon, explained that blueberries are a miracle-worker for your skin.
“I would say the number one food [for good skin] would be blueberries. Blueberries are a food that are really, really jam packed with skin protective properties,” she said.
If you want to take it one step further and really get those skin benefits, she recommends buying wild, organic blueberries, because they have a thicker skin that contains more antioxidants.
Blueberries are extremely high in antioxidants, which protect your body’s cells from damage caused by unstable molecules called free radicals.
This helps protect the skin from damage and signs of aging. They also contain loads of vitamins and minerals that nourish and hydrate the skin, giving you a glowy complexion.

Blueberries are actually one of the best superfoods, because they are very low in calories but packed with nutrients.
Some of their other benefits include helping to manage blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart disease, helping to regulate blood sugar, lowering cholesterol and promoting better digestion, WebMD reveals
However, blueberries aren’t the only thing you should add to your diet for good skin.
“If I would choose a second thing, I’d probably say green tea, specifically matcha, because green tea doesn’t just prevent sun damage, it’ll actually reverse,” the dermatologist added.
“So we even have evidence now that if you have pre cancers from the sun, it’ll reverse those early stages.”
Turns out, your daily iced blueberry matcha habit is actually helping to keep you skin clear, pump and glowy. Thank you Blank Street.
