Pro Bowl running back Jahmyr Gibbs has been a key player in the Detroit Lions offense. The 2023 first-round draft pick is known for his lightning speed, and it earned him the nickname Sonic. Those powerful moves inspired his own signature burger.
As the NFL season kicks off, stadiums across the nation have revealed their signature menu items for the year. While classic fare will always be available, chef-driven, themed food and over the top creations get football fans hungry. The newest burger inspired by the Lions’ Gibbs is a prime example.
Jahmyr Gibbs Inspires the Spin Dash Combo.
Ahead of the Detroit Lions September 14 season opener at Ford Field, the stadium’s hospitality partner, Levy Restaurants, unveiled its new menu items. A signature food item is the Spin Dash Burger, created in partnership with Jahmyr Gibs. It will be available in Section 100 and 120.

The Spin Dash Combo is pepperoni pizza smash burger. The culinary team starts with a griddled smashburger. It is topped with pizza sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and pizza seasoning.
It is served with golden ring tater tots and “Honolulu Blue” Sour Patch Kids. According to Levy executive chef Matthew Coleman, this combo is filled with Gibbs’ favorite foods.

The name refers to Gibbs’ nickname “Sonic.” It is a reference to his signature speed, which has made him a player to watch on the Lions offense.
Lions Fans React to Gibbs’ Signature Burger.
Whether or not football fans will devour this curious Spin Dash Combo with record speed remains to be seen, but fan reaction was quick. Some people appreciated the whimsy in the flavors and will be lining up for that first taste.
For example, one person said, “This is exactly how I would’ve packed my lunch in middle school if my mom let me lol.” Whether this concept is a kids’ food fantasy come true or just curious combo, the Levy chefs have people excited to see the new Lions’ menu.
Although Gibbs’ signature burger might be an over-the-top offering, Levy’s hospitality team understands that it needs to be inclusive of food trends, eating preferences and local flavors. As Chef Coleman told USA Today, there are several vegan vegetarian and clean eating options.
One example of a healthier food option comes from the local restaurant, Breadless. The Detroit-based fast casual restaurant will offer leafy green sandwiches as well as power bowls.
From the bold Gibbs’ Spin Dash Combo to other food that fuels game day, Ford Field has an option for every Lions fan. Only time will tell if this season’s menu proves to be the lucky charm for the NFC North Division team.
