AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)- The planning commission will take a look at a rezoning request. Developers want to build a hotel right off of Wheeler Road.
To make that happen, 2.17 acres of land needs to be rezoned from Agriculture to General Business.
A development company wants to build a 4-story, 119-room hotel with parking. That would make this the third hotel off Perimeter Parkway.
Right now, there’s a Double Tree and Affordable Suites Augusta.
Newschannel 6 spoke with a person who lives in Whitney Place near the proposed location.
He didn’t want to be on camera but did tell me was against the rezoning of another hotel in this immediate area.
Today’s zoning meeting is at 3pm at the Municipal Building.
The recommendation will then go before the full commission Tuesday, July 15th.
