Discovery of an electronic eye that enables blind people to read again technology

More than 20 people regained the ability to read again after losing their sight as a result of age-related macular degeneration, thanks to the implantation of an electronic eye linked to smart glasses and an attached system, according to a report by the technical website “The Verge”.

This experiment was conducted as part of a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, which included 38 patients over the age of 60.

The study indicates that 80% of its participants partially regained their sight, enabling them to read newspapers and black-and-white texts, but experts believe that this is an amazing achievement and opens the doors to a definitive treatment for this disease in the future.
