Donald Trump has given his verdict on whether he will campaign for President again after previously mentioning he’d run for a third term if he could.
Speaking to CNBC today, Trump said: ‘No, probably not, probably not. I’d like to … I have the best poll numbers I’ve ever had.’
The President has previously joked about running for the presidency a third time, but has never been taken seriously. Fervent support from his followers has made some wonder if he’s considering it for real.
In November, he told House Republicans: ‘I suspect I won’t be running again unless you say “He’s so good, we have to figure it out,”‘ he said, prompting laughter from some supporters.
Trump told lawmakers he had run his last campaign unless they ‘do something’.
American presidents are limited to two terms as enshrined in the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution.
