In the current tax environment, downloading digital tax receipts online (CFDI) is a key tool to maintain transparent and updated accounting control. Both individuals and legal entities have the obligation to keep their invoices issued and received, since these documents support income, expenses, deductions and accreditations before the Tax Administration Service (SAT).
The SAT platform allows access to all CFDI registered in its database. From there, taxpayers can consult, filter and download their receipts in format XML y PDFwhich facilitates accounting reconciliation and the preparation of monthly or annual statements.
Steps to download CFDI issued and received
1. Enter the SAT portal: go to www.sat.gob.mx and select the option “Electronic invoice – Check your invoices issued or received.”
2. Access with RFC, password or e-signature.
3. Select the type of receipt: “Issued” if you want to download the ones you generated, or “Received” for those issued to you by your suppliers or service providers.
4. Define the search period, using specific dates or ranges (day, month or year).
5. Apply optional filters, such as recipient RFC, receipt status (current or canceled), or CFDI type.
6. View the results and select the receipts you want to download.
7. Download the files in XML format (valid before the SAT) or PDF (printed representation).
An additional advantage of the system is the possibility of block downloading up to 2,000 CFDI simultaneously, allowing better administrative control. Additionally, there are accounting tools that can automatically import the XML downloaded from the SAT for classification and reconciliation. It is important to safeguard these files for at least five years, in accordance with article 30 of the Federal Tax Code, since they are official documents that support operations and deductions.
In conclusion, maintaining a CFDI download and backup routine not only guarantees tax compliance, but also strengthens the internal organization of companies and independent professionals, avoiding loss of information and possible sanctions due to audits.
