The widow of Dr Michael Mosley has shed light on her ‘terrible year’ after suffering three more family tragedies.

Clare Bailey Mosley opened up about her struggle to make sense of her loss following the death of Dr Mosley last year.

The beloved 67-year-old author, broadcaster and TV presenter was found dead on June 5, 2024, in a rocky area in Symi, Greece, after going on holiday with his family and friends.

His death was not believed to have been caused by accident-related injuries, homicide, or suicide, but there were extremely high temperatures on the day he died.

Now, more than a year after her tragedy, Clare has spoken out about losing more family members.

Since flying home from Greece last June, she has lost her father as well as her uncle.

As well as losing the family dog prior to Dr Mosley’s death, she also lost her stepsister, who was only in her early forties.

‘[It was] a terrible year that started with the dog dying,’ she told The Sunday Times.

‘I don’t think one can make sense of it. The shock is so profound, I don’t know how to.’

Asked whether she is still in shock, she added: ‘This is a good question. Because I don’t know. I don’t know.

‘I have no idea, to be honest. I don’t really know what my name is right at the moment. It’s a very peculiar thing. Because my identity is slightly changed.’

This comes after Clare discussed the fateful day he died and when she knew there was something ‘devastatingly’ wrong.

In an interview with MailOnline, Clare told how Dr Mosley wanted to go for a walk as she and their pals sunbathed around the pool.

But after he didn’t return for a few hours, she immediately contacted the emergency services.

As daylight began to fade on the first day of their search for him, she said: ‘Then it got dark. It became devastatingly obvious something had gone terribly wrong.’

She went on to say that when she went to bed, she just ‘curled up’ and ‘cried’.

Clare was, 63, was married to Michael for 37 years and had four children together.
